The big difference I see between Dr. Mike and Mr. Johnson is that one is a front line practitioner and the other is metatheorist. It's very hard for the ant to see what the eagle sees. This DOES NOT diminish the quality or value of either side as both have strengths and weaknesses that often act as pure tradeoffs. But they can't see the same things and thus can't come to the same conclusions. Which is very beautiful. Thanks Dr. Mike for putting on the show.

I do agree with Brian's view's on predicting the future. If you analyze current dominant entities and upcoming entities "entities" meaning people or organizations, you can somewhat predict future probabilities of what's likely and unlikely to happen in the future. especially if these entities have a proven track record of doing the things they say they will. and I also fancy his holistic perspective on the powerful force of exponentials. seeing as we've had many revolutions that have shaped the modern paradigm, we currently stand at the steep curve of the slope which is rich in probability and uncertainties. I wish I was a part of this conversation to ask questions. Doctor Mike is also very observant and independent in his thinking and a very strong foundation of logical reasoning and the ability to ask the right questions through logic and intuition. both very open minded to one another with mutual respect for each other's views and beliefs. I really wish I could've asked questions in person lol.

The original plan
Genesis 1:26-28
Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.” 27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

What we needed to avoid
Genesis 2:16,17
Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die

Why we die
Genesis 3:19
In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return

The limit of time of life on earth
Genesis 6:3
Then Jehovah said: “My spirit will not tolerate man indefinitely, because he is only flesh. Accordingly, his days will amount to 120 years

Prophesy about how God will fix these problems
Psalms 37: 29
The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it

I don't think Bryan enjoys life, how could he? And he doesn't really show a healthy side of life: obsession is never positive. What's the purpose of life if we don't enjoy it?

I do measure my sleep ocassionally on my watch (mostly out of curiosity), but most functions in Smart Watches are usless in my opinion. why do i need to konw my heartbeat? what difference does it make for a healthy person? Why do i need to know my steps? i know for sure if i went or not to the gym today, i don't need a watch to tell me that. So i agree with Mike on this

Doctor Mike read "How Not to Die," it covers how all human diseases (cancer, heart disease, lung disease, etc.) were caused by changes in the human diet and culture and can be resolved by plant-based diets. Its filled with research and written my a medical practitioner (and emphasizes how Big Pharma has a chokehold on medical practicioners because they are payed based on the medicine they deliver). Medicine has NEVER been the answer, and yet most doctors are tied financially to it.

How long till these "dont die" protocols to be tested and accessible to the general public? I imagine we have a long,long way to go. As Bryan said, 25st century. Kinda weird thinking that future generations will learn that their ancestors had to die, same with how we learn about our ancestors and how they lived up to 30

I'm not certain that aftermarket immortality will ever be achievable.

Stem cell therapies (which we should be able to culture by now), can probably extend life substantially.

But actual immortality? I don't think that will happen without modifying an embryo.

I dont disagree with his never die protocol. The thing I think he is overlooking though is that the planet or at least civilization isnt going to be around in 500 years/ We are trashing the planet at an incredible rate. As Im writing this now post the pacific palisades fires, he lives 2 miles south of a community that has no drinking water or at least none that you would want to drink. The air is polluted beyond belief. Malibu has closed the beaches for miles due to water pollution indefinitely. The caveman had it better in a way. Bryan s answer to this is AI and technology and break throughs that are not even fathomable, and all of our problems will be solved.. To me its wishful thinking. But for now................. he is doing some good in making people to take a good hard look at how they are headed to an early grave due to lifestyle choices.

@Sumsum5342
@Sumsum5342 - 13.02.2025 22:27

Doctor Mike's logic is pretty flawed. First, his thought experiment is conflating the value of life with enjoyment which is such a selfish, fleeting and "cheap" purpose so how could that ever be what makes a life valuable. Second, he uses the logic that having less of something gives it more value - but that argument only works relative to other humans. The baseball card being valuable is only relative to other humans not having it. The logic of extending one's own life is not about someone else not having something but being able to share more of it with them. While you might make the experience of a shorter life more valuable, it isn't going to enhance meaning any more. Meaningful life is purely the result of intention acted upon and not wasted. A life lived purely for "enjoyment" is worthless and lacks value no matter how short or long.
