You need advice from no one. You are both so sensible, you will work it out, the same as any parent. It is exhausting but no going back, the best experience in the world ( mostly). My children are a similar age to you, and probably would say I tried my best, no perfect parents exist, but love is the key.

I am catching up with old videos whilst watching recent ones so I have already watched you getting the baby so was lovely to ❤watch this and see how excited you were …. Totally correct when will you ever be ready ….. we’ve had four (now adults ) during many years of renovating and we still renovating now always something to repair upgrade or change so just go with the flow as I always say …..so wonderful you’ve had then chance to do this and overjoyed it’s been a wonderful journey for you and such a supportive family you have the baby will be showered with love thank you for sharing this journey ❤

We live in the US. We have friends who are married and like you wanted a child. Here is how they did it. Same as you, they wanted to have a child with their own DNA. So, our 1 friend asked his family for a donated egg. And he immediately had 2 or 3 women in the family volunteer. Invitro was done, with his husbands sperm, and they had a beautiful little boy. The second baby was done same way but with donated egg from 2nd husbands' family. Again invitro and now they have a boy AND a girl. And their families and all their friends including us, LOVE those kids so much. But mostly, they feel complete. And their happiness shows in everything they do.

I'm always fascinated by it and I think it's amazing that we are able to do these things and honestly my scientific mind is always wondering who's egg and who sperm. I guess it's rude and kind of nosy to wonder. But I do when I see lesbian couples, I wonder how do they choose? Who's egg and where is the sperm from and the same couples as yourself how do you pick who's sperm? How do you pick the egg I don't know I guess I always wonder what the same sex couples to do they say this time we're gonna use my egg and then next time will use your egg? It's just so interesting to me so cool welcome to parenthood the most wonderful experience ever.❤

I wanted to share a gentle perspective on a comment I heard in this episode. When Borja mentioned that the surrogate was “just the oven” and not the mother, it made me pause. I know your intention was likely to clarify roles, but I felt that this phrasing may unintentionally overlook the incredible contribution and experience of surrogates.

As someone who’s passionate about supporting equality and respect for all, I believe there’s an opportunity here to acknowledge the surrogate’s role with more honor and appreciation. While you both will be the loving parents raising this child, and I fully celebrate that, it’s also worth recognizing that the surrogate brought this life into the world through her own body, with her own experiences, and under her care.

Her body nurtured, grew, and protected the baby for months, and her lived experiences and emotional state during this time have a lasting impact on the child’s development. Though she may not be the legal parent, her efforts and the physical, emotional, and even ancestral connections she shared with the baby are significant.

I don’t believe the comment was meant to diminish her contribution, but it might come across that way, especially to females who have carried or wish to carry a child. Childbirth is a profound and, at times, deadly journey, and I think honoring that courage and commitment speaks to the values of respect and equality that I know you both hold dear.

In this world of striving for greater equality and understanding, I’d love to see us all honoring the contributions of everyone involved in these beautiful journeys—whether it’s the loving parents raising the child or the surrogate who carried them into this world.

Congratulations. But did I understood it right, that only one of you could be the sperm donator ? And if thats right, was it difficult to decide which one of you will be the one ? Or was sperm and egg cell a donation both from strangers you could chose from ?
