Some say, Kitano's movies are underrated. Underrated by whom? A real artist in any art never creates anything for the sake of rating, money or fame, he just can't help creating what he is up to. He is like a transmitter of heavenly energy, so to say. He is not choosing what to create - there's just one way to do. So he doesn't need any sort of pity or compassion from anyone: he works because he can't avoid from doing so. The joy is in it itself. Inner sort. Who wins from noisy fame? Never anyone had any good from that, its just a habit to think this way. But one day it will go away. Having his part of attention from people, he got less troubles from them as well.

Took me time to know why his Lt took his own life for Cerise but he had his own men and would make his boss more powerful, the way his jaw dropped took him back to his roots. Wish they would have stayed on top a while longer.

I lived in Japan in late 1990s and often saw Kitano in these crap and absurd TV programmes which were a mix of stupidity and continuos laughter.I wonder why he took part... However behind the laughter Kitano appeared such a deep reserved person , not at all superficial , opposite from the programme intent and the other invited guests. I have watched his films over and over and found them touching and so deeply rooted in human emotions. Still today I refer to them when down. Somehow he is one of the greatest artists of our time...❤😢
