Bruh you cannot count on people (unfortunately especially white people) with platforms for anythiiiing, which sucks because they’re the ones who reach and influence the most. I agree we should stop looking to celebrities and influencers for philanthropy and social justice but let’s not pretend that’s not how things work right now. That’s who the masses pay attention to, check the statistics! The majority is performing their activism, at least make it worth something. Donate your money to Palestinians, promote donations, condemn genocide!!!!

i love celebs that use their platform correctly, they understand the power and responsibility they have, and for that they have all my respect. melanie martinez has been using her voice a lot too, i knew i stan the right person ❤❤ she has been telling everything to call for a ceasefire and had the qr code up at all her concerts for her trilogy tour, she’s been posting a lot to support palestine and encouraging everyone to take action, and she got the palestine flag on stage too.

1. a german study found out two years ago that israel was critizeced more than any other nation in german newspapers
2. jews have been living there for thousands of years and most jews who migrated to isreale were from surrounding arab nations, to portray them as foreginers and western colonizers is really antisemetic considering that israel also has a lot of un resolutions agaisnt them and jews were heavily disciminated agaisnt even before and after the nazis, also its straight up nazi rethoric
3. that doesnt mean israel is without flaws and cant be critizised but you have to be aware of all the antisemetic traps (there are way more)
4. every nation state is built on violence and oppression

I think it’s the fact that Zionism and antisemitism has been so grossly conflated in this situation, these people are too lazy (and don’t care) to take even 10 minutes to do a quick google search on the history of Palestine and know how incorrect that conflation is. Why would you need to grow a backbone or “risk” your career when you can be willfully ignorant and complacent in genocide by saying nothing and making excuses.

it's interesting to me how influencers say they aren't "qualified" to speak on the genocide of Palestine, and yes uninformed ppl can add misinformation to the movement, but ppl really aren't even asking that much of them. like, the bare minimum is acknowledging that there is a genocide being carried out by Israel, that we need a ceasefire now, and that they stand with Palestine. you don't need a lot of education to know that, imo, and if you don't know abt the history of Palestine it's on you to do research! Brittany Broski is an academic who has done at least one video essay on art history, she knows how to do research. unfortunate how hypocritical she's being, her white feminism/American centric politic is def showing

But after seeing Tyler, the Creator, one of my all-time favorite artists support the cause, I felt 100x more compelled to be loud about it.
