The Delhi Metro Red Line is undergoing a significant extension as part of Phase IV of the network expansion. This project aims to enhance connectivity between Delhi and Haryana, particularly benefiting the northwestern regions of the capital.
Project Overview
Route: The extension spans from Rithala to Nathupur (Kundli), covering a distance of 26.463 km.
Stations: A total of 21 new elevated stations are planned along this corridor.
Cost: The project is estimated to cost ₹6,230 crore.
Timeline: Construction is scheduled to be completed within four years from the date of sanction, aiming for completion by 2028.
Route Details
Delhi Segment: Approximately 23.73 km of the extension will lie within Delhi, featuring 19 stations.
Haryana Segment: The remaining 2.73 km will be in Haryana, with 2 stations.
Structure: The entire corridor will be elevated, except for the depot station, which will be at-grade.
