My husband of 40 years and I have always had an understanding, if he is working and I am not I don’t expect him to cook, clean ect, and that works in reverse as well, there were times when I was working and he was between jobs, he helped with house stuff. Then when we both were working we SHARED the chores. We also have never said, it’s my money I’ll spend it how I want, it has always been our money, we never ever had that mentality that I see in so many couples. Marriage has to be a partnership, in all aspects, to be a successful enduring one.

I really think first guy has adult undiagnosed ADHD & depression..bc who would chose 1 year in jail instead of going 10 mins down the road that was not mentally unwell? Could also be why he drinks a lot, or the drinking could be the cause of it all.
