I know these are a little pricey, but how are the prices compared to the competition? I guess cost vs real world use and durability?

Do you think these mag mods work better than using a flash bender?

I love magmod but they are too heavy for on camera. I now use them for off camera on godox ad200. The new light version is very tempting to try again. I am using godox v1 with godox accessories for on camera flash.
Will I be able to use the gel with the angler softbox? Also, the grip was difficult to put on and pack inside the bag. Since the new gels have magnets and v1 has magnet head, do you think you could use the magmod round correction gel without the grip? Round gel is meant for softbox but it will be great if it worked without the grip.

Yup. It fits but my hands still hurt from putting it on. That was over an hour ago.

I love mine, but like everyone said it's too heavy. Won't be getting the new one, I'll stick with old.

On the round flash, try to place the mag grip with a pen or two pens by the flash, it will be easier. Once you get the mag grip in place, remove the pens. :-)

You'd think Magmod could come up with a better/much easier solution for their strap-on (if you can) system.

I would love to have seen you putting that Magmod Maggrip onto your round light. hahahaha. I think I sprained my wrist doing it. LOL

Good for events and run&gun; for portraits they're too harsh, especially on the female figure. Unusable for me, light is too ugly, and they're also super expensive for what they are. Honestly, even if they're perfect for a wedding, I wouldn't use them, I'd accept slower pace and less ergonomics and speed of setting up the gear, but wouldn't trade soft lightning.

I found nothing absolutely nothing educational about your presentation, sir.. I have never seen anybody complain so much.. deal with it. You could’ve shown the public in the process of your shoot and how you rectify the situation going forward I found it very difficult to listen and watch you ..Get your act together.

Since you have some round head lights from Godox did you ever try their accessories? It's model AK-R1, about $60 with dome, snoot, gels, bounce and so on. Seems clear to me the Magmod system was only ever intended for back when rectangular speedlites were all anyone had.

I ended up with the godox ml-cd15. It came as a kit wit adapters for multiple lights and was around $15 i believe. I dont know how the ease of use compares but i like that it can pop open into a bulb, semi dome flat front/semi dome round front, or just flat giving you a few options for controlling it. I would have got it either way because magmod system here was way more expensive 😅

Totally agree with how hard it is to put on the maggrip to a roundhead. I have the Westcott FJ80 II. I would say I have quite a strong set of hands and arms and yet I hurt my fingers in the process.

Did the magsphere 2 yellow like the first version?
