2. Put it on the music bus (no drums). 
3. And side chain the soothe plug in to your vocal bus (so that the music buss is being altered by your vocal bus)

Bro this tutorial is amazing as usual! I also tried something for the first time today and I think it could be a very useful trick. You can try sidechaining the Pro Q3 to the vocals, that way the instruments won't sound weird or anything if you got a part with only instruments!

Are there other eqs that have the analyzer feature as well? Or only pro q 3?

Yes!! Best way would be also to make it dynamic and sidechained to the vocal so it doesn't disappear all the time!
