Played the free weekend for over 6 hour's and have to say its a very confusing game with not enough hints. Ran out of money income and didn't have a clue. Thank god I didn't buy it bit this game could have been so much friendlier.

Thanks, this was the tutorial that was missing from the game. I played 1602 back in '99 as a kid and remember not having a clue what I was doing then too. I was only 11 then tho

I don't understand how a game can be published without a decent tutorial, I am a few handfuls of hours into the game and while I haven't failed, I am struggling to succeed. So I open up the 'encyclopedia' for help but it only has one tab under general info which has to do with needs of the first tier population. BIG HELP THANKS UBISOFT. afaik the consumption rate is based on residences not on pop, at least the wiki claims this. the tax rate is based on pop but not consumption. the reason upgrading is problematic is that a worker drinks double the anount of schnapps a farmer drinks etc. i recommend the consumption rate table on the wiki.

NOT A BEGINNERS GUIDE. The narrator talks 3x faster than necessary. He goes through beginner menu options without explaining them, rips through changes with no logic included. Does not explain the basic Xbox controller button mapping to the VERY COMPLEX menu system of the game itself. You bettter be HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE to follow his rapid fire guidance. If you are an experienced Player, this is great. But if you are a newbe, find another tutorial.

I just got this game today and I'm sure I'll watch this video many times over. This comment is made about halfway through the video but can you pause a cutscreen? Some take forever and I'm constantly having to get up for kids and dogs and stuff.

Note: You can pay pirates to prevent them attacking you while you are doing your trade routes.

I was a few hours into the campaign before I stopped to watch this guide because I was feeling uncertain of how I was laying out my island. Now that I've watched this I'm about to go start over with a sandbox mode and everything on easy settings so I can master all the logistics and building before going back into the campaign. Love the game so far!

Lost me at about 10 mins

This was so helpful. I recently started this game and I made an entire mess of my first island. I built way too much stuff too quickly which ended in my famers leaving, my workers revolting and buildings on fire. Ditchwater was really living up to its name lol. I decided to try again after I figured out what I did wrong. So far, it's going much better than before ha ha.

I'm not kidding when I say I have watched over 2 hours and 10 "review" videos of Anno 1800 and I still didnt understand how the game works or how it's played. They just left me with more questions.

Your guide cleared more up and was so well made than all of those combined. I actually understand the main gameplay now!

I was going bankrupt quickly almost lost the the game at multiple stages until I started building ships I didn't know anything about city building or economy I just started cranking out ships ounce I got to the iron. It was so hard I was always going negative and I thought I was going to lose a few times.
