My question is, after 50 miles running flat, is the tire still reparable, given that it was reparable just after loss of pressure? Thanks.

Stupid and useless. The only reason you know you ran over a nail is because your tire is flat. All this means is it's going to be a little bit longer before you realized that you ran over a nail. Fucking dumb waste of money.

If you get a flat with one of these in snow or icy weather, would it severely effect traction and be dangerous to continue the 50 miles, at a relatively safe speed considering road conditions of course?

Don't let a flat tire slow u down stuck in glue even without air pressure run flat tires are useful for driving 55 miles an hour safely.

just drove 3761 miles on these tires across the US in 7 day, did not get a flat tire which was good, tires drive great, I didn't hit snow or alot rain ( so can't say speak for snow or heavy rain) , they are about 1/2 wear when I started the trip, so they are a bit noisy, the side wall is stiff, 235/55/18 tire on a AWD V6 2011 Toyota Rav4, over all happy with this tire if you must have a run flat tire, I was happy to KNOW if I got a flat i would make it to hotel or service station and not stuck someplace (especial in these weird times)

Designed at a molecular level to resist heat buildup ... cooling fins which help reduce heat buildup. Marketing.🤦

Bought a 2014 BMW 320I with Bridgestone run flats. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR WITH RUN FLATS EVER, EVER AGAIN! THEY ARE NOT REPAIRABLE - THEY MUST BE REPLACED. You will not likely have a spare to switch to (the theory is that a run flat tire does not need a spare to save space and weight). If you get a flat in a small town, it is not likely they will have a replacement available so you will wait for at least a day to get it replaced. Maybe you can drive 50 miles but your car will wobble all over the road and never feels safe. When I go to buy a new car, it will be on the condition that the run flats are replaced with regular tires and that they include a spare. I don't care if it takes up most of the room in the trunk. At least I'll be able to change it and get on my way.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST INVENTION EVER!
And I speak from experience.

Huh, I didn't know these were marketed to normal people. Thought it was just a thing in APCs & military craft and the sort.

I was wondering how I was able to drive my Camry 36 miles home with a split in the tire without it falling out of the rim. I was bored today and opened my vehicle manual pouch and the tire manual had RFT Run flat technology on the cover. Thank you BridgeStone. You save me

It said you can go 50 miles before it deflates entirely. Can you keep inflating the tire (with a portable electric pump) as needed to run an extra 50 miles (or more) without hurting the enforced sidewalls?

Run flats offer terrible ride quality and cost 40-80% more
Simply not worth it... I regret buying new bridgestone rfts recently and wish I bought std tyres instead at a lower cost and got a simple repair kit and compressor instead

its cheaper if you buy the fix a flat foam cannisters, just plug it in to air valve and deporess, emptying the whole can, the gel will altomatically plug the puncture and will fill l up the tire as artificial air

Run flats make the ride very harsh, hence why almost no car comes with these...
