One correction, the Chinese military is 100% voluntary.

Even tho there are rules about conscripting, there are so many people volunteering every year there's no need for it ever. Some even bribed inorder to get in since there are life long perks after joining, for example in medical care bills, park tickets and such.

Not many do that nowadays since the general living standard have improved dramatically.

This would make for an awsome tv show

This is the 2nd time listening. I sub'd, commented and liked after the 1st hr of the 1st book. That was a Long time ago. I was going thru my subs to see which ones to keep. I saw this and decided it had been enough long enough to give it another listen only to discover there is a WHOLE NEW BOOK!!! I feel like its my birthday.

Overall good story. Roled my eyes a few times at some of the cliché plots points and events.

Especially the one on one duel near the half way point, i actually cringed when Isaac calls the asian gang leader out to a kung fu fight.
But still, worth a listen

I have started and stopped many a post-apocalyptic audiobook, because many of them just drag on and on and nothing interesting really happens. I normally like EMP related stories, but this one’s a keeper. It’s not from the perspective of multiple people so it has a certain continuity to it that I like. Also the action keeps coming which keeps it exciting. And the narration is top notch.

On a sidenote, if you want a good EMP story, check out the EMP Collapse series by Christine Kersey, which starts with Book One “Chaos Begins”. The narration is a bit stiff at times but overall acceptable. But the story is really good.

At 15 we were in florida with mini 30s and ak's. On top of real weapons We went to milsim events every weekend way out in the woods for fun. All our dads were vets and expected nothing less. We wanted a red dawn not knowing the reality of death and injury

So i searched "free audio books" and i had ti scroll down a bit but i ended up picking this one out of many id seen and im so glad i did the story is amazing so far my props to the author ❤
