Silhouettes Run Through Mountainous Landscape in Greece | THYTA House

THYTA House is situated in a natural mountainous landscape, covered with wild scrubs and olive trees, overlooking one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Island of Lefkada, Greece. Designed as a retreat for a local family, the house features an elliptical silhouette that defines the common areas, while the bedrooms are integrated into the topography on the upper floor. Arranged linearly on two levels, it follows the curvature of the mountain profile and blends with the terrain, creating overlapping volumes that reduce the visual impact seen from the sea. The elliptical living room detaches from the sloping terrain, forming a courtyard that provides shade and emphasizes views of the mountain and sky. The roof is punctured by oculi that frame olive trees, and a column-free pergola extends the shaded area, framing views of the sea. The house uses a neutral color palette, facilitating its integration into the surrounding landscape, and features a garden with native coastal vegetation, creating a captivating sensory experience.
