My Rhode Island whites are aggressive. They just started to lay eggs, and by now they killed one little bird that got inside, that it could not get out so they devoured the poor little thing. They also caught 2 lizards so far and they devoured them too. I hope this behavior is normal. My Rhode Island reds loved worms, they feast worms. Is it OK to feed grass to the chickens? is it safe? Thanks.

OMG...My daughter and her kids are chicken 'crazy.' (no negative vibe here) The chooks follow the grand daughter like puppies. She'll pick them up and rock them on the porch swing. It's a riot!

I think you should explain the implications (to male chicks) when you purchase a “sexed” chick, especially from a hatchery.

I was at the TSC yesterday. One of the guys was boxing up chickens for someone else. I overheard him say that the black ones were on sale. He checked with the manager and said that she would sell them for $1 a piece if I bought all of them. I have 22 chickens now.

what i like about chickens is it's basically like minecraft.
Building rainwater automated watering systems, gravity feeders, and rollout nest boxes. You can do automatically moving chicken tractors if you want. Chickens enable us nerds to build some crazy stuff.

Had chickens start eating the eggs. I put a golf ball in the nest. Didn't help. I stuck the golf ball into half of a Easter egg...they pecked egg/golfball & shook their heads! You could tell it stunned them..they stopped almost immediately after that..today they make ceramic eggs..they say it's to test for broody hens. But I bet it could help break the egg eating habit..hope that helps someone

I really enjoy your insights on raising chickens—I can totally relate! I'm a chicken enthusiast and a farm owner myself, and I've always been looking for ways to make chicken keeping easier. I have a really cool automatic poultry waterer that connects directly to a faucet, so you’ll never have to refill their water daily again. It’s been very popular on Amazon, and I’m sure your fans would love it too. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to send you one to try out. If you like it, maybe you could make a video to help promote it, and you can earn a commission as well.

What a mansion you've built for your chickens 😂 Keeping up with the neighbor much? Chickens don't require anything near what you have built. Give them a place to roost, lay, stay dry, and protection from predator's.

False info: You dont have to kill all your chickens if they get avian flu. Avian flu is NOT rare its very common, almost 85% of all chickens carry the virus. A SEXED hen does NOT mean a female chicken. To much false info in this video.

I have a large area for the birds to roam and an open coop they can come and go as they please. Pretty much free range lifestyle but fenced off to keep the dogs away. However the fence was compromised a couple times and I lost two flocks to dogs. I am on the third now which brings me to my thought on temperament. Even within the same breed the birds kind of form their own culture. The foods they prefer, the way the interact with each other, roosting preference, tameness.... Reminds me of the Navy how we are all Sailors but on the different ships there is like a subculture.

Don’t forget that DIY coop doesn’t take into account the massive amount of research, travel, thought, and planning that goes into how to find the materials and how to use them for the coop. So, time is money. If you simply buy a prefab coup it costs more, but there’s zero thought or time involved. It’s literally ready to setup immediately and you can focus on everything else while you wait for delivery

Chicken farming is the process of raising chickens for egg or meat production and requires a suitable environment, balanced nutrition, and proper health care. The process includes selecting the right breeds, setting up safe and well-ventilated coops, and monitoring chicken health to prevent diseases. It also involves managing hatching and marketing to achieve optimal productivity and profits.

You two are totally GENIUS ! 2 great knowledgeable guys with calm personalitys. A pleasure to listen to and learn. I was listening to a different channel this morning and finally just had to turn it off and l won't be back after making it only 1/2 way through. I didn't give it a rating bcuz some ppl may like it. The problem was he rambled on and on (like lm doing right now) about his life and repeating at least 3 times info he already gave. Ive watched both of you before and always had an enjoyable learning experience. You have a life long fan. No lm not their mother. 😂
