Islam came to india in 629 AD time in the life time of prophet Muhammad pbuh and it was trough cheraman perumal know as great lord of chera dynasty before, after he witnessed the breaking of the moon miracle.. he got the answer of that from arab traders and he traveled to Arabia and met rasool sa, in tamil language there is saying 'makkah pona perumal' means like the king who went to makkah.. that time people in kerala used tamil language, his kabar is now in salala oman, he became Tajuddin and his brother become sainudheen, that king cheraman perumal from south india accepted Islam firstime from indian subcontinent asper the information. And islam came to indian subcontinent to Kerala first. The first masjid also in Kerala called Cheraman juma masjid made in 629 AD
