Reynolds’ attorneys, who also represent Mint, reportedly also represent his wife, Blake Lively. Liman’s brother, Doug Liman, previously worked with Lively and is represented by CAA, a major talent agency owned by François-Henri Pinault, Salma Hayek’s husband. In May 2025, Lively was seen publicly with Hayek for the first time in years; soon after, Hayek praised her as a close friend. These overlapping ties, legal, financial, and personal, raise valid concerns about impartiality, especially given Liman’s past failure to recuse himself from at least 15 cases, including one involving Bank of America, where his wife held stock. The judge must be from Massachusetts. The corrupt judge in the Karen Read case doesn't even try to hide her bias towards the defense.

There are a million armchair lawyers in this thread trashing the judge but the fact of the matter is that legal experts have been warning us for months that the law California passed after MeToo forbids sexual harassment claims as a basis for defamation. The judge did what he was bound to do, and then left the opening for Justin's team to amend their complaint accordingly. This isn't a surprise to anyone.. California got what they wanted. Anyone can accuse anyone of harassment free from repercussions. Congratulations.
