Am stood in the exact same spot in Oct 2019...outside the Midland hotel. Two days after the Tories have just left, watching this.

I studied A level history in the UK in the 80’s and consider myself reasonably educated. But I never actually heard of the Peterloo Massacre until I read about, and then saw Mike Leighs brilliant film. If you have a country that is unaware of it’s own bloody history, you have a population that can be manipulated and persuaded by corrupt elitist politicians that doing the greatest self-harm to itself is a good thing.

Yet we still have her majesty’s government not the people’s government

Nothing has changed and it never will as long as the rich run things. Wake up the working class of England and fight for a fairer distribution of the wealth of this country. The whole system from top to bottom is geared to make the richer richer and keep the working class where the rich think they should be, at the bottom of the heap.
