Why would anyone want to be part of Russia? They treat their people like cannon fodder, and nobody dares to speak against the Tsar, because prison or worse.

Lenin promised Ukraine that they could have independence if they just helped subdue Belarus , the white Rus in 1920. Of course, the Kremlin lied, and backstabbed Ukraine after getting them to fight their other enemies.

As a resident of Belarus, I can say that there are several reasons:
1. The people of Belarus will not support this, despite the "brotherly" attitude, something "extraordinary" must happen for Belarus to lose its sovereignty.
