I have had two of those Comet window jumpers (VHF/UHF + HF) for years... They work perfectly and are a great alternative to drilling through walls

Not being mean but you need a stabilized camera setup. It shakes rather rough in a number of places. Glad it was fun at the hamboree.

I just bought a new truck... 2012 F150. I have been debating one of those Lido mounts... Thanks for the look at some of the options.
I'm looking forward to visiting that HRO the second week of September...

Superior video! I use a Lido mount in my car. They are great, but that wedge holder may be needed to free up a cup holder! Think I also found my next antenna analyzer too. Great HF setup. I too use the FT-891 and ATAS 120A, when I get it put back in my truck. Keep up the great work!

That HT is great. I have had mine for years. One especially great aspect is that it does SSB (CW) along with FM. A lot of the HT radios will cover with FM and AM only. Great deal.

Good to see people spreading the word on this amazing hobby to younger people, Thankfully I had great older people encouraging me when I was young to eventually get my Ham license, they need to hear an alternative to the cell network dependent society. I have a Comet CAA-500 Mark 2, they are great, tuning to resonance saves having to use a tuner & get as much signal radiating from your antenna and not back down your feed line/coax. 👍73's

Great coverage of the HRO Hamboree. You have been talking about getting the Kenwood TH-F6A for a while and you finally found one. Great deal for the radio at $50, I paid 6 times more than that about 3 years ago. I enjoyed operating on 220 with it. I did not have much success with the shortwave frequencies. Overall nice radio.

TH-F6... great HT! AM FM CW SSB- 2 220 432 wx channels HF Air Band... and yes I’ve used it as a receiver on HF with a QRP xmtr to make QSO’s at home QTH and portable with a little T/R switch!
Hot receiver... had to use inline attenuation to tame the front end.

Speaking of deals...I went to a local Colorado hamfest last weekend and picked up a 10 pack of 4 foot aluminum military masts, with base and carry bag for $20. You’ve got to love hamfests!!!

I used to live 2 miles from HRO, San Diego, way too close and costly to the wallet.
So far I have shopped in HRO PHoenix, HRO San Diego, HRO Sunnyvale, now closed, and HRO Las Vegas. Used to love to go to AES in Orlando, but no longer an AES.

Just spent $185 on the Palomar website. Here's hoping I can rid the shack of all the GD noise!

I'm sad that there is nothing up here in Northern North CA (near Mt. Shasta) I miss the hamfest I used to go to back in the 1980 and 90's in southern NH at Deerfield, NH. when I lived in Redding CA back in 2001 there was one but that was the last one.

That comet guy was really happy you came along. Admittedly, he had some good stuff, that window coax looks useful.

In the beginning of the video, I saw one guy selling a Swan M-55 mobile antenna. That was one of the first multi band mobile antennas on the market.....and it was a very good design with performance in mind !
