I agree I been building over 27 years. I took a 4 year apprenticeship program when I first started.
But I think this generation really don't know what the meaning of apprentice is. But alot of the time the master builders or a journey man are not teaching the apprentices. When I was a apprentice you really really haft to want to learn the trade from layout, running a transit vertical not horizontal, advanced blue print reading, the craftsman ship of interior work you name it. It's alot to learn
Give them all of the money and you just go out and inspect after each phase. Or just pay them to build one of your homes if you're really sincere about it.

ОтветитьHe's absolutely right. It takes years to successfully run a full job let alone a full build. The sequence of events have to be on point.
ОтветитьI went to Gadsden State Community College for Construction Techology for 18 months where I carpentry framing and interior trim, We built a habitat for humanity for a class project. I took a few cabinetmaking classes at Northwest Shoal Community College trying to make up my mind weather just be a carpenter or cabinetmaker or do both.
ОтветитьGood information. Thank you for sharing.
