Love that they use old school lian-li cases
ОтветитьThese cases are built by Lian Li and are still 100% all aluminum quality like their cases from back in the day. I wish they sold those cases.
ОтветитьBest intro and outro on the web
ОтветитьRunning my 16 core 3000 series TRPro on the Asus board with Debian 12 using i3 and it is peaches as you say Wendell. A beautiful combo.
ОтветитьGreat review.
Ответитьi need a 12k display driver that does virtuel monitors
ОтветитьI am confused, Velocity Micro didn't plug it in and do a basic check before shipping?
ОтветитьThe rad is upside down. The inlet/outlet should be at the bottom.
ОтветитьIt makes me happy that they used Arctic fans.
ОтветитьWorkstation with a window 😂
Nice machine but come on...
A very nice system. I like the case and the internal look, very sleek. The $8260 US price puts it at $11,250 CAD where I am, which is more than I paid for my new Intel W7-2495X, W790 ACE, 512GB ECC, RTX-3090 workstation box. The TR Pro platform here in Canada is bonkers for high cost.
ОтветитьWorkstation with a windowed panel?
ОтветитьMore laugh track please
Ответитьcurve optimiser sounded cool until it wasn't
ОтветитьAwesome CPU, horrible GPU from a even more horrible company.
Request another one with a proper AMD GPU.
Hopefully we can see Storm Peak Threadripper soon
Ответить@Level1Techs : hi Wendell do you know if the Threadripper Pro 5000 series also suffer from the infamous Event ID 56 (ACPI 15) crashes in Windows 10 & 11, like their predecessors ?
ОтветитьFirst gen Threadripper was a great start - then AMD shot themselves in the foot by making Threadripper workstation exclusive and putting too many cores on AM4.
ОтветитьI want one!!! Could I get it without Windows?🤮 Windows sucks like a freaking vampire! 🧛♂ I love Linux🥰🐧, and Linux loves lots of processor cores!🐧😍🥳
ОтветитьNice to see they are using Arctic fans - cheap and really good performance.
ОтветитьHey Wendell, now that information is starting to come out (again) about next-gen Threadripper 7000, do you think it's likely that any variant(s) will feature 3D V-Cache? If so, how much cache do you think they will have? Thanks 🙂
ОтветитьWould love to get an update on a fast, preferably near silent, Linux workstation-build with VFIO (whatever the status of that may be) for the few things one might still need Windows for. Optimized for developer type work; compilation speed etc.. don't care about games. 4xDP out. Budget around 6-7K.
Ответитьvery cool, feel like Wendell has the most Threadripper builds
ОтветитьWhen you pulled out that bag, I thought you wer going to hang it off your ears and feed out of it like a horse! You are just goofy enough to pull that one! 🤪
ОтветитьThe office I worked at previously had a couple DEC VAX-4000 systems sitting in a storage room since the 90s (when they ran, from what I gathered from the old gray-beards, file sharing & email services).
That workstation is not quite in the size category of those things (think full tower height, but twice as thick and even deeper), but it looks like it's getting close.
Great video, but one component was missing.I guess Wendell is still trying to figure out where to put the icy docks...
ОтветитьAbout ROCm, I did a build of Blender using ROCm 5.5 on Windows (HIP and HIP RT) and it worked well on RDNA 2 card. HIP SDK is now supported on Windows ;)
We are not there yet maturity wise with ROCm (compared to CUDA) but I do look forward to an updated Wendel video later down the road when it matures a bit more, maybe 5.6/5.7?
Wendell mentioned on stream recently that hes been feeling better recently, and it seems to be directly reflected in all the new content. I dont need any of this stuff but its still fun to watch.
ОтветитьJust found out a few days ago that these guys are literally 10 minutes away from where I work. We’ve been using Boxx systems but would love to give these guys a try and support a local business next time we need a workstation.
ОтветитьI also only heard my chipset fan once on X570M Pro4, and that was 1.2+ hour into a full NVME drive copy across the chipset where the drive being written to was the one on the chipset. It probably wouldn't even have turned on then if it was reversed
ОтветитьBag of holding looked like some underwear 😁
ОтветитьThe lack of one or even two temp-in headers on high-end motherboard has been strange to me for a long while. How is the motherboard supposed to know, that the GPU is currently cooking everything?
ОтветитьThat's a whole lot of consumer grade hardware for a "high end workstation" and that warranty is pretty weak
ОтветитьWendell I have to say you have given me so much motivation in life, from the way you look to the way you make your videos. You're getting better and better everyday brah. Thank you🙏
ОтветитьNice machine, appears to be in a Lian Li case, because the top power button/ports are the exact same as the O11 Dynamic.
ОтветитьI really like it . Thanks for the review.
ОтветитьThat back fan is driving me nuts with the sticker.
ОтветитьNow that's some desk me(a)t!
ОтветитьI just want the case
ОтветитьThanks for the review .. seems like a descent build ;)
there is a constant whine in the background of the video... (just FYI)
They better send an L sized shirt soon too tbh 🤩
ОтветитьMore Puns :)
Ответитьmy first prebuilt was a velocity micro. excellent quality, was a great price at the time, and lasted many years. glad to see them still around.
ОтветитьAnother good video from Wendell
ОтветитьLet go big :P When is the next Threadripper ... RIP
Ответить
