They lost they big time they underestimated
ОтветитьI was there on the USS Coral Sea, CVA-43, with Marine All Weather Attack Squadron 224, an A-6A, A-6B & KA-6D tanker squadron. First 2nd Marine Airwing squadron to deploy aboard a naval aircraft carrier, we were there from Nov. 1971 through Aug. 1972. We lost 3 aircrews. On this day, May 3, 1972, my friend Capt. David B. Williams was shot down during an attack on a bridge in north Vietnam. His remains were finally returned to the US and received a proper burial. I still have the POW/MIA bracelet I purchased from Capt. Williams' wife when we returned. Cheers from an old Marine sergeant in eastern TN
