ОтветитьYeah, I need itva little slower teaching lol
ОтветитьJust got my chanter... tried following what u do on this video but it just makes a high pitch tone and doesn't sound good at all lol
ОтветитьThis helped me so much, but wheres your thanks button so i can tip you and send a tip for your help.
ОтветитьMy father has played the pipes for 50 years. Grew up around them, I played the violin for around 12 years and I’m now getting into law enforcement. My father is the Pipe Major for his department, figured I’d try to catch him off guard and pick up his pipes. Thanks man
ОтветитьI love playing my bagpipe
ОтветитьWhen playing mine it sounds high pitched and doesn't change when putting my fingers over the holes.
ОтветитьAbout 15 years ago my wife bought me a piping chanter kit. I monkeyed around with it for several months then gave up. Today, I found it and I can’t get any sound out of it. I can see through it, any idea what is wrong?
ОтветитьI'm a beginner and i love the sound of the pipes. Looking at ordering a McCallum practice chanter...wanting the African Blackwood. Want to learn badly. Love the way the wood sounds. Any recommendations would be great.
ОтветитьI'm a late comer to bagpipes. I wanted to learn the bagpipes when I was a child, but my Scottish mum said no!!!! She married a New Zealander of Irish decent. I want to pipe our daughter into the reception after she gets married in 10 months. I might not make it, but will have fulfilled a long held desire to learn, so all good. Could you please suggest a great, but easy, wedding tune for me, so I have plenty of run in time to pull this off. :)
ОтветитьTHIS PERSON IS THE ONLY PERSON I WILL TAKE LESSONS FROM ONLINE.. WHAT A GOOD HUMAN BEING.. CHILLED OUT..AND VERY HELPFUL. THANKS FOR THESE VIDEOS AND YOUR TIME. TOP LAD
ОтветитьThanks for lesson but u didn't run it thru the same way u played it at the end. I followed every step thru our the video and at the end it wasn't the same. Also at the end u played far to fast to try to get it all. 😭
ОтветитьBrilliant, thanks.
Im still learning. Ive got to learn sheet music at the same time so im making slow progress.
Youre right, learning a smal tune is helpful for enjoying the practice.
What do you recommend setting the metronome to for a beginner?
And what is the metronome bpm for the tune?
Excellent tutorial, u make it simple & fun and your kind smile between steps puts me at ease! Thanks
ОтветитьI loved the tutorial
ОтветитьIt’s a A grip at the start mate 👍
ОтветитьJust got my chanter last week to explore heritage and quit smoking. Definitely need to quit smoking because breathing into this thing takes effort haha
ОтветитьBeginner here. Struggling with coordinating the right pinky and ring finger. Definitely think I'm also holding too fight bc I feel warn out after practicing
ОтветитьThanks for the time! I’m just starting after years of playing the saxophone
ОтветитьBefore I forget, since you asked SO nicely, I will leave a comment. Overall, I think it was good/great lesson-very informative/educational. As someone who took bagpipe lessons roughly for seven years, all of this sounded familiar. As far as your question about long versus short videos, it would really vary from viewer to viewer. I had this going in the background. I kept having to pause it, so 20 mins seemed a little excessive. However, if somebody were trying to get a comprehensive beginner bagpipe lesson, I'd say they've come to the right channel!!
ОтветитьHow come when I play the high A I’m supposed to have my left ring finger covering the hole, but it sounds the same even if it’s not? And I do have my right hand first 3 fingers covering. So why is that?
ОтветитьThank you for the videos!
I’ve always wondered how to get into bagpipes and been interested. My great grandfather is Scottish and my grandmother fully immersed me in the culture through festivals and history lessons, always thought it was super cool and after discovering the practice chanter I was thrilled to find a cool little instrument that has an awesome sound and is financially obtainable for me at the moment and will be a head start to one day learning bagpipes!
Thanks a lot for making this video for beginners ! Overall, I think the most difficult part is to hold your breath for a long time haha ! Greetings from Brittany !
ОтветитьI just bought a chanter and am very worried my fingers are too thin to play well.. I can't seem to keep the holes covered adequately.
ОтветитьI am having a tough time keeping the holes adequately covered....so discouraging
ОтветитьThis is a great video and I am thankful for it, but when you play the whole thing through at the end, it appears there is an entire bit you left out of the tutorial.
ОтветитьThanks a lot, i‘m a beginner, Amazing Grace is The First Song that i can play, now it‘ Time for Sc. the Brave
ОтветитьHey, thanks for the tutorial helped me so much but are you able to do an easy tutorial like this for Blue bonnets over the border. Or if there is already an existing one
ОтветитьI’m 11 years old and my chanter teacher said I’m going to the bagpipes in a month and I’ve been playing chanter for one year now thank you for making to vid to help beginners ❤😊
ОтветитьSlow down for us new guys.
ОтветитьWtf slow down
ОтветитьHi I'm wanting to learn the chanter pipe and want to know what's a descent set to get thanks Bryan
ОтветитьWant to start playing pipes. Looking for the best options to learn and practice playing. Thanks Brother
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I need! As a jack of many instruments---master of none--I know how I learn, and it's not the way most people, seemingly, learn. Dyslexia. I learn by getting the feel, and I can't do that by repeating scales and such, THIS is how I learn. Thank you, Alec!!!!! My first bagpipe prayer is answered!
ОтветитьI am a beginner. I just started received my practice chanter. there are a lot of videos about adjusting the read for sound. The reads I received have a lot of hemp on them, they are much longer than I’ve seen in videos. Is there a video that shows how to correctly reduce the length of the hemp?
ОтветитьMy chanter sucks I need a chanter that’s not as expensive please recommend me I’m not more than 10 years old and I’m playing right and now I need a better chanter please recommend me please 🙏( I’m not playing on a chanter )
ОтветитьThank you. I'm looking into getting my own practice chanter soon. I'm quite excited. I do wonder though, a lot that I've heard sound out of tune. Is this normal?
ОтветитьThank for making this video. i just bought a practice chanter and im only 13 years old and im trying to learn the bagpipes and ou make it easy
ОтветитьThis is what I need, I need a tune to play. I am scaled to death. Please give us more of these popular tunes for us beginners. Great stuff.
ОтветитьIm a snere drummer in the pipeband i have been for 5 years, and now im trying to learn the bagpipes
ОтветитьMy chanter doesn’t have a different tone for each finger is my chanter to cheap what brand would you recommend thanks Dawn a beginner
Ответитьhi, quick question: I see online bagpipes from Pakistan or England for under 200$, are they a decent start for somebody with no deep pockets? If not how much would be a decent one? I just started to practice with a rosewood chanter I had for many years, it's not very loud and I have to blow really hard and I can play the simple Amazing Grace fairly well. Next I will learn Auld lang sine. Thank you so much for your lessons.
ОтветитьRed piano dude ad is so annoying lol
ОтветитьThank you so much! You are an amazing instructor!
ОтветитьI’m getting this
ОтветитьPlz upload aa full video on green hill of Tyrol
ОтветитьI've just got my first chanter as a complete beginner. It occasionally goes either incredibly high pitch or low pitch. Could it be the reeds? I'm making sure I'm covering all the holes properly.
ОтветитьThis song is so easy to play on any keyboard or guitar, bagpipers really do a hard job, but honestly it sounds much better on a bagpipe, so thanks for the very interesting lesson, sir.
