Ami think the South African team is awful. They’re attitude has no regard for human life and it’s like they’re proud of themselves.
ОтветитьPete Athens is a good guy. You get the sense throughout the documentary that he’s the only one willing to help others and put human lives before making the summit. Then you find out he took the time to cut Bruce down so he wasn’t hanging there like a piece of meat, and got the camera back to his wife. We all need a friend like Pete
ОтветитьFrann made it to top . Not giving credit because climber didn’t not survive descent is bull crap . Giving one’s life to summit is heroic . It means giving up a future of accolades and fame , so that you could achieve the great accomplishment
ОтветитьBut the South Col route aka the”Yak Route” is the bottom division (3rd) of all summit accomplishments. 2nd is anyone who gets there on NO supplemental oxygen . The gnarliest being all climbers who climbed via North ridge . Or if anyone ever successfully summits via South West face . In 50 years someone will make the East face summit from China . But that route is still considered suicide in 2023
ОтветитьAre there two different episodes? It seems like it starts all over again in tge middle. Is the second one updated? About 10 minutes in and so far seems identical
ОтветитьI don't get any of this! That's why I will never be doing this.
ОтветитьSummitting Everest may be beguiling to climbers, but it is only so because it's the highest peak in the world. I think of all the people who crunched numbers, risked their lives and fortunes to build airplanes so we could fly that height in comfort with a cocktail in our hands and here's a group of people who want to suffer to get there. It's a bizarre world.
ОтветитьEveryone in this comment who haven’t climbed extreme mountains have no place to criticize the choices or actions anyone made
ОтветитьMount Everest is a graveyard now..and should be treated as such ,it is so littered with the tragic sight of dead bodies ,people who literally died trying to get to the top of this mountain. It should be blocked off and considered off limits ,due to the egregiously deadly conditions .and considered as sacred ground out of respect for the poor souls who died so senselessly up there..in this absurd pursuit to reach the top of this mountain, if people can see the ground all the way up there littered with corpses isn't enough common sense motivation to bring people around to the reality that they could be next in a way that makes them think ,"what the hell Am I doing?"...then something has to be done by whichever government or governments that have the means and ability to do so ,to stop any more people from getting up there..these people are sitting themselves up to die, for nothing more than what? I few moments of personal satisfaction? ..this mountain is a haunted and deadly place and terrible things can happen to those who tempt fate in such an environment ,obviously this fever they speak of to reach the summit at all costs ..is coming from a place that is spiritually eerie at the very least, and needs to be stopped, before they too ,end as lost , and wandering , soul ..freezing and alone with the memory of screeching and howling wind forever raging in death as they had been when they died..its a mountain riddled with such lost souls .its a spiritually negative place ..133 lost souls whose bodies have never even been laid properly to rest..confused, and disoriented in death as they'd been in life..its no place for living people to be .
ОтветитьThis stupid bi tch With Red shirt, who is talking, don't stop laughing. Even when she mentioned that she left another woman behind ,Always have a smile on her face -.-
ОтветитьLong live beck weathers
ОтветитьCathy O'Dowd and Ian Woodall were smug scammers that gave mountaineering community a bad name. Their sponsorships were withdrawn by SA well before their climb, and many lies were caught upon factchecks. 3 of the most experienced climbers from South African team abandoned them as well due to their bullying, and uncompromising behavior. They together represent the worst of humanity and mountaineering. They are squarely responsible for scuttling not only the rescues refusing to even make comms via their radio, but also for death of fellow climber Bruce Harod. Also, remember they started the summit push without their partner ready, who then needed an extra 3 hours. If they had worked together, they could have left at the same time maybe taken 30 or so mins to get Bruce ready along with them. RIP
ОтветитьWhat about every person climbing carry needles of dexinexen, typo, to give to help revive them
ОтветитьI want to go there to, but im 74. Safe

ОтветитьI think the way they're calling for help is some crazy twisted sht. Like you know the risks you're taking going up that sht I feel like your stupid a## didn't belong up there in the first place so now you want to call for help and put others in danger to rescue you. Like I don't know why they're letting these "tourists" who have no climbing experience whatsoever just pay a certain amount of money, , you're calling on help for others and you want them to risk their lives because you had no business up there in the first place just so you can get a selfie. I have zero tolerance, I'm sorry to say, for people that want to go mountain climbing, rock climbing, deep diving in and out of caves, or going cave exploring where you literally squeeze through places, or try to, into a place that humans don't belong, if humans were supposed to be in these places then they would, but they're not because you have no business in these places. And then you want someone to rescue you when you had no business there period.PERIOD. NO SYMPATHY.
Ответитьsorry beck getting to summit is not a goal , and means nothing ,then what did you go there for maybe if you got to top it meant nothing , its only a biggg hill . no offence meant ;
Ответитьo
ОтветитьBeck Weathers ids the definition of a man
ОтветитьFuck that shit. 3 year cruise is cheaper. No brainer
ОтветитьHow could Bruce wind up on the summit at 5 PM?
ОтветитьI was the first to the summit wearing the same condom I wore at base camp. Bring your extra oxygen! dead climbers do not set records.
ОтветитьCathy O'Dowd is a sociopath
ОтветитьIts so easy to condem people from your couch, people know the risks, how responsible are you for ypur own actions, 100%
ОтветитьVery easy for people to make these judgement calls from the comfort of their warm home.. the reality is every climber made a choice knowing what could happen.. you made that choice and must die with that choice.. to each his own
ОтветитьNo one owes you if you’re stuck on the mountain . That’s the risk you take for being in a place you willingly put yourself in that you know can kill you . Just stop going there . These ppl are nuts
ОтветитьBeck Weathers is so innocent, “no one gives a RAT’S REAR” 😂 whereas anyone else would use the common term
ОтветитьWhat obligations to other people its every man for themselves
ОтветитьYou are responsible for you thats it
ОтветитьMallory and irvine did it first
ОтветитьWhy do the sherpas always have to save everyone
ОтветитьBeck had not climbed up to the top like others, so maybe he had strength to keep going. But, he had been waiting for many hours for Rob. Idk how he was able to walk. I hate cold weather!😂
ОтветитьEvery cllimber must take reliable radios, turned on. Extra hat and gloves also. AND DAX INJECTIONS.
ОтветитьThat South African woman is awful. She absolutely should have said something to Bruce about turning around. She knows that at that altitude and proximity to the summit, people aren't thinking rationally. Yes, he may have told her that he was going to summit anyway, but she owed that man an attempt to convince him to turn around. She utterly failed him.
ОтветитьWhy is everything repeated ad nauseam?
I am not stupid!
This is ... forgot the English word ... total nervig!
Ah, THIS IS NOT the BBC documentary. It's listen bait. 👎🏼
ОтветитьEvery mountaineer knows the risks. And amateurs are attracted to the risk. Either way, don't feel sorry for them. Feel sorry for the poor bastards that die trying to rescue them because they might get a years salary in 2-3 days.
ОтветитьAs a South African, I'm disgusted by the Saffans not wanting to lend them their radio. Wth!
ОтветитьExtremely disjointed documentary. Jumps between years, stories, groups.
ОтветитьAnyone who climbs without supplemental oxygen, especially someone who has never been above 7,500m, is irresponsible. Nobody should climb without supplemental oxygen.
ОтветитьRationalise it any way you like walking over Someone just to get to the top of a mountain is cowardice
ОтветитьThat mountain is evil
ОтветитьI love all of the mental gymnastics these idiots try to use to justify their sociopathy lol.... Whatever you fools have to tell yourselves so you can sleep at night I guess. Seems like anyone who's willing to step over someone else simply because they want to stand on a rock for a minutes and take some photos, shows you everything you need to know. You all get what you deserve
ОтветитьRob Hall had a radio. Sherpas had radios. Base camp had radios. Why did Weathers think Rob Hall couldn't be contacted by someone if he left to go back down when he was able? I mean, the whole "cross my heart hope to die" story kind of falls apart when the fact that Rob had a radio on him is placed in the middle of it.
ОтветитьPSA: no one is going to risk their life 6 miles up in the sky trying to drag the dead weight of a 200 lb man down off a mountain he intends on summitting; and to suggest that someone should is completely absurd. Because this clearly indicates that you don't belong on that mountain if you think others are obligated to save you bc you had summit fever and are now in over your head.
ОтветитьSpitting Image made an incredibly apt parody / song
ОтветитьIt's scary knowing how selfish people are. To pass by someone without helping them is truly gross.
