I love the way these two women play. They dont need to sound like any men because they transcend gender when playing. As an example of that, there´s this story...Many years ago I had the chance to listen to a CD of Gary Thomas named Till we have Faces. I became crazy with the drummer on that album and some time later, when the Internet appeared in my life, I searched for that album and found the drummer was not a man, but Terri Lyne. Since then I became a great fan of hers.
Many years later I saw Nikkie Glaspie groovin´on a DVD named Gospel Chops, I think. Incredible drumming!!!! Love ´em both!!!!! Thanks for your inspiration!!!

So why? Minorities.
BLACK WOMEN. Yup sometimes it works in their favor.
