Andor Season 2 Viewership is MUCH BETTER Than We Thought?!

Andor fans overjoyed that in the 2nd week, with viewers catching up on 6 episodes and the entire first season, it nearly matched Ahsoka watch time for the 2 episode debut of 97minutes. Lol. We already know from Luminate that Andor S2 isn't significantly higher in the final weeks than the first two.

The Hypocrisy from Nia(Theory) of saying George Lucas' Underworld show with violence, nudity and gore is AWESOME, but somehow Andor scene showing an unsuccessful attempt where women fight back and win, is somehow not acceptable.

And know that Andor has long ass episodes and they released it in 3episode arc batches. People still haven't watched it yet. Viewers are still left to come. Give it 2 months and see it will top the chart.

Bro hates anything well written. First Andor then Penguin and Arcane (I’m not kidding. This asshat allegedly dropped the show on episode 2 cause it reminded him of the Acolyte and went to wash it off by watching Zack Snyder’s Justice League).

The mock surprise is killing me. Andor has been universally praised all season. Of course it’s a smash hit.

I get that Josh doesn’t like this direction, but he should at least recognize the quality of the show. Before Andor, it felt like Disney couldn’t produce anything good.

I've been a fan since I was in the second grade, all the way back in '77. I get the feeling that Josh believes that Andor fans are all Disney Star Wars and/or KK fans. The truth is, besides Rogue 1, the first season and some of the second season of The Mandalorian, and Skeleton Crew, I'm not a fan of what Disney has done with the franchise until Andor. Most of what I've seen lacks true creativity or respect for the brand. So if an Andor win encourages KK to leave I'd be happy with that as well. It would be two wins in one, imo.

It's Star WARS, right? Andor isn't about who has which color light saber, it's about the actual war.
But it is still absolutely, positively Star Wars. Sets groundwork perfectly about how and why the Rebellion began; leads very smoothly right into Rogue 1, which leads smoothly right into A New Hope and on to all the rest.
People saying "it isn't Star Wars!" are just really confusing to me. I don't understand that take at all.

I cannot stress it enough, this show is amazing! I watched the first two seasons last week. I was like you I was anti-Star Wars after episodes eight, nine, and solo… I refused to consume any Star Wars content. One of my best friends got me to watch Andor last week and it was the best decision I ever made. It is stellar entertainment, regardless of if it is in the Star Wars universe or not. Do yourself a favor and watch it.

I can’t stand either of these self appointed idiot gatekeepers that have their alterior motives behind their actions. I can’t stand KK or Filoni, as far as I’m concerned they’ve both done damage to SW. Ashoka is hot garbage and Mandalorian isn’t as tight of a show as many think. We’re having to sit back and watch an untalented simp (Filoni) play in his personal sandbox, using his own characters while damaging the greatest IP in the history of movies. And now this Kool-Aid drinker thinks that Ashoka is some kind of benchmark, child please.

Andor is some of the best Star Wars material I've ever seen. It deserves to have huge numbers.

More or less a Star Wars fan that does reviews/lore/speculation stuff as a god damn job. Like what how am I supposed to give this man credibility. I think the worst part is that he uses Filoni and Lucas as a guiding North Star as if they are the end all be all of Star Wars. Andor is great and I’m happy he’s mad about it.

I'm not buying it. You can game the system to make viewership appear higher than it is, and Andor was absolutely designed to game the system - everything from the release date, effectively ensuring it faced no stiff competition, to the way it was packaged in 3-episode blocs to facilitate mini-binge sessions, etc. was all a deliberate decision to make this turd appear successful so Tony Gilroy and crew could save face.

47 year old lifelong fan and Andor is by far the best the IP has ever been.

I consider myself a hardcore Star Wars fan and was very meh about Andor when it was announced but it really drew me in. It was really good. Better than most Star Wars imo. I hope one day we get something with force users with this much care put into it.

The corporation did not have anything to do with Andor's success. Tony Gilroy was allowed to do it, but because it was about a minor character in a one-off film the activists ignored it and Tony hit it out of the park.

Give it a fair shake, Josh. It's faitful to canon and makes Rogue One and the rest of the Original trilogy hit THAT MUCH HARDER. It's worth it man. Bury the hatchet, grab some popcorn, and enjoy the ride.

I REALLY don't get why people like you and SWT don't like this show. It is MILES better than Ahsoka and Mando. I mean SWT acting like a child and refusing to watch it when he watched and reviewed EVERY episode of Acolyte is stupid. Acolyte was garbage and this show is definitely among the best Star Wars ever. So if there are no Jedi or lightsabers, it sucks? Really reduces my opinion of you both.

The most interesting thing about this is that these numbers are not even from episodes 7-12 which is really when this season went from good to best show around

Reminder.. This is the numbers before the last 2 weeks of episodes.. Probably the best TV I have seen in 10 years and definitely the best Disney 'Star War' .. Its fantastic.

Objecting to "sci-fi in a Star Wars setting"? So... Star Wars? I know lightsabers and space wizards are all that some people come for, but I find it bizarre that any adult thinks every plot in an entire galaxy should involve those things. If quality over
pew pew will save the franchise then I know my choice. But it's not like you have to worry; Disney is ending Star Wars streaming projects so this will just be a reminder of what could have been.

Having a series like Andor with some animation like the Maul show / Tales and a movie coming out every second / third year sounds like the perfect mix of SW in my opinion. I'm really a mega hardcore fan and I enjoyed Andor simply because it was really well written. For the first time in a long time a Star Wars show I was challenged to consider character motivations & decisions. This kind of felt like watching GoT for the first time. Andor really has it's place in Star Wars, just like the classical themes do.
