Again, with 'the lack of commitment' 🙄
ОтветитьI am always confused. Is that REALLY so popular in the US? 🙈I am not familiar with the other European countries but in mine, if you're expected to check work email on the weekend (without a weekend schedule in the contract), people would probably laugh it off. I don't know a single person who ever was advised to do so or actually did. And I am sorry for everyone living in a country where it is 🥲
ОтветитьI love love love this shit.
ОтветитьIt really doesn't matter if you have boundaries if you tell them you have them or if you don't they still want something and they may say it or don't they're still going to want it
Ответить"We all do it. It's no big deal."
Having grown up with the Just Say No campaign, I have to say.. No.
I NEED that mug
ОтветитьStart recording every interactiom with managers like this.
Then forward any recordings of illegal or unethical demands to the department of labor. (Bypass HR - they'll be notified when the state decides it's appropriate to do so).
@soheilsamavati
ОтветитьDon’t allow that lack of commitment comment without challenging.
Say, “ My commitment to this job ends when my work hours end, unless the company is establishing an on call schedule with appropriate pay.
My own time is mine to do with what I wish.”
And follow up the corporate veiled threat with an email.
there are two acceptable answers:
1) since we do need to you to be responsive to contact this weekend you will receive a bonus in the amount of ×dollars to check email and remain on-call and if we do need to contact you you will be paid at your overtime rate.
or
2) Please respond to weekend emails as soon as possible Monday morning.
That be classed as over time so I need to be paid
Ответить"No worries, but I'll be requiring an on-call rate to cover those weekend tasks. Otherwise you're asking me to work outside of the bounds of my contract."
ОтветитьI was on vacation for a week and a half. Didn't check email or think about work at all.
ОтветитьI really wish this was real. I'm not educated or smart enough to talk back to anyone this way.
ОтветитьThe person who is taking over my position, had work email on his phone. He is hourly.
I flipped, and made him take it off. It his personal device. Work does not pay for any of it, nor do they pay us enough to have work on our phone.
Before he left for the day, he finally removed it from his phone.
I am dumbfounded that people at my job willingly put Teams on their phones to always stay in touch. It is not required for anyone, not even management, but it's done by the majority of people. Ain't no way I am replying to a Teams message if I'm not at my desk, let alone on vacation!
Ответитьi’m committed to my job. i really like my job. im only committed to my job while im physically in the building and clocked in though and thats it.
ОтветитьI'm "on-call" for some of our services (I'm a software engineer). I get paid extra for every hour of just being available for a potential call. Once I actually have to touch the computer and do some work, it's normal overtime with higher rates.
In my opinion, this is the only acceptable approach. Anything else is just stealing your employees' personal time. 🙃
Too wordy. Just say, "No." Many times.
ОтветитьThe only time we are encouraged to look at our work phones is during extreme weather for if we come into the office or not. My job is like no over time, gtfo, have a life that isn’t here.
ОтветитьWhat’s an ‘unt’?
ОтветитьI have created efficient enough systems to ensure that I’m not overworking and that my work gets done to the highest degree.
Ответить"It is not a big deal"
If it's not a big deal, it can wait till Monday.
I'll be happy to be on call after hours when you compensate for it.
ОтветитьLiteral american problems. Land of the free needs some basic workers rights
Ответитьlol. After all these videos, I JUST saw the "C".
ОтветитьWhy is White Shirt always constantly fiddling with her mouse?
ОтветитьThe boss chick is pretty hot.
Ответить"In case I need you to jump on" implies that there could be significantly more expected than just checking email. If checking your email, let alone doing something about it, on weekends is part of the job, then the pay needs to reflect that.
ОтветитьI just realised that the cup's handle is a C and the UNT adds to a rather interesting cup name
ОтветитьAm I the only one who thinks her mug says the c word?
ОтветитьAm I the only one who thinks her mug says the c word?
ОтветитьGreat response!
Ответитьthis channel is about what we wish we could actually say.
ОтветитьTruth
ОтветитьOh snap
ОтветитьThis is why Indians and Chinese are taking your jobs. We don’t fuss like you guys 😂
ОтветитьIf she reads her email, then the next step is to reply to every concern. That will be followed by working up to 16 hours for the weekend. No one will appreciate it but they will expect it every weekend until she retires.
Put in a fair effort in work and put in an equal effort to be with your family and friends. Also, all the interests and hobbies are important to refresh the whole person.
God gives us a short time on this earth. Make the best of it.
That's when you make an email and cc HR and every higher up you can get asking if you answering emails in your time off will be extra hours or an on call employee
ОтветитьSometimes I love being hourly cause nah you gotta pay me for that time
ОтветитьSo. Friggin. Real.
My boss wrote me up for not completing tasks that came up over the holiday break at the university I work at. The campus was literally closed and she knew that I would be out of office in Hawaii over Christmas. Someone failed to get paperwork completed and turned in on time to the state and somehow it was my fault for not reaching out to that person and reminding them over Christmas when they had already received all of the information in the initial welcome email. No, I am not on call. No, no one was able to help me with this task (we are one deep and she likes to pretend she’s helping when she most definitely isn’t) and also WE WERE ALL ON VACATION!

Some bosses think they actually own you. Thought they made that illegal a while ago. 😒
Don't do it...Work to live, don't live to work
ОтветитьThis is why I love working for my boss. She tells us NOT to check our work stuff after hours or weekends as that is our time. I have my email and Teams set so that notifications shut off every day at the end of my workday and turn back on the next morning. They are also set to not go off during the weekends or when I am on vacation.
ОтветитьHonestly, she should be looking for a different place to work. This place seems unhealthy for her.
ОтветитьI get it now. Corporate is selling crack and they just need you to try it. Just open that laptop.
ОтветитьLove the design of the mug
Ответить🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьIt is wage left , forcing people to work off the clock
ОтветитьThe gaslighting by management staff that just because they do it must mean everyone should do it.
REALLY NEEDS PUSH BACK!!
