I own a 7 acre farm with two, 3 bedroom homes, a 40 foot one bedroom trailer, a 35 foot one bedroom trailer, three barns, a garage, three sheds, and have 10's of thousands in savings, and I'd never give anyone a cent, that I'd never met, except below. I paid $260 today for groceries for a friend of mine, who is looking after her sister that had a stroke, that needed help. I'd help anyone I know that needs help, but never a dime to an internet "person". I also have 5 children that I have been giving money to for over 15 years, through Compassion. This is a legitimate donation site. I'd never send money to a person I had never met that said they "loved" me.

I have no sympathy for these people but the net result is that they become destitute dependent on their children and the taxpayer. For this reason only this needs to be stopped at the source. Pass legislation that requires all dating sites to post warnings like cigarette packages about how it is critical to video chat with you new friend before you send money.
Pass legislation requiring financial institutions to verify both ends of any financial transaction that is more than a $1000 one time or cumulative to overseas destinations
The USA government can hit Nigeria and Ghana with massive tariffs until they deal with this problem
Regulate crypto currencies like banks or make them illegal

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have made it very easy for criminals to clean their illicit earnings
