The skill saw story is sooo relevant to me.
I had a father that was mentally ill. I was terrified of him. Alcohol was part of his “cure”.
I tried and triedto make God love me because I was so afraid of hell.

Thank you for the discussion I am so glad that the Father is opening the eyes of those who grew up in the system. I am curious as to what you think of this- I believe we are created as never ending life people our spirit which is us never ends if we follow Jesus in the mortal body our soul never dies ( I think the soul is what we make of our lives) but our mortal bodies are temporary and therefore don’t have the same standing as the spirit or soul ( not in a gnostic way that the body is bad) we all know that this body will die unless we are the ones who are alive when Jesus comes back. So our bodies are not really us . I am a amputee I lost my right leg in 1983 , way before I understood about Universal Redemption, but I believed that all things work for the good for those who are the called according to his purpose. I believed that my spiritual growth was more important than my moral body and God wanted me to read scripture and learn from Him as option 1 but I am a hardheaded man and the best way for me to learn was by the loss of my leg. I spent 4 weeks in the hospital and it was a accelerated growth class like I had never had I am so glad that God aloud me to go through that .(no it was not fun in the mortal body it was the worst pain I have ever been through) I see the idea that if something happens to our mortal bodies it’s bad the worlds way of understanding and not Gods. If we believe that then why would Paul say that God gave him a thorn in his flesh that God said no I won’t take it away it’s for Gods purposes. Also if we don’t understand this way of thinking it makes God out to be a monster in the OT from all the people He had taken out or had others do the killing. I think God is so in love with his creation that he is willing to save us from ourselves even if that is in the form of our mortal body dying, to save us time in the lake of fire. Yes God is interested and loves us in our mortal bodies, He gives us food, shelter, clothes ect but it’s not equal to the spirit and soul , we are all going to have this tent wear out and then we become whole with a glorified body that we get to keep from then and forever. I hope this makes sense and I am curious what you think. Thanks Jeff

I think the church has a wrong idea what being saved is so when u use that word Gill, I am not sure what u r trying to say. The majority r so ignorant of the Word that we speak different languages when we don't know what reference ppl are coming from
