The real problem is Danny's having trouble letting dj grow up. He had the same trouble when dj wanted her first real job working at the mall at the photography studio, when dj was learning to drive, when dj was going out on dates, when dj was in a serious relationship with Steve etc. You can't suffocate people. Sooner or later you've got to let them go. You can only guide them.

Danny should actually be happy. DJ only experimented with make up and cosmetics in junior high. She didn't have her first steady boyfriend until she went to high school when she met Steve. Until then she pretty much held it together with school and her extracurricular activities.

These days, even 11 year old and 12 year old girls(middle school going) girls are winding up pregnant.

If I were Danny, I would've probably been OK with the make up. But I would've made dj change her outfit into a trendy top and a pair of jeans for junior high instead of what she was wearing. Cuz then, at least her body would've been covered. I would've thought OK. She's still young. She'll change her ways and learn the proper way to wear makeup as she gets older. But that's just me. I think that's the mistake that was made here. DJ could've still probably done her full face of make up provided that she wore a trendy top and a pair of jeans to go along with it. instead dj decided to wear a dress like that and tried to get out of the house. She should've known her father wasn't going to allow that.

Such girls who make fun of you in junior high or high school, don't finish/graduate school, wind up dropping out of school, wind up getting pregnant, wind up having sex before they are even ready to handle it, etc..

They'll probably struggle later on to turn their lives around because they won't be able to get decent jobs to support themselves, and if they have a kid at a very young age, it'll be even harder.

I knew a few girls like this in high school in my graduating class who were like this and now it's happening to younger junior high school girls.

I remember when I started middle school. It was different from elementary school, but it was still school. I didn't wear make-up to school even though I was growing up.

When I was almost 13, sometimes I wished I could still go to school that had a playground, but one that was made for older kids.

i remember watching this show growing up in the 90s. girls could have used a makeup lesson and to not be so heavy handed cause they looked like clowns. and danny could have at least just asked her to change into something more school appropriate like a pair of jeans and a cute trendy top.
