Lee Kang-in scored two goals and provided an assist as South Korea defeated Bahrain 3-1 in their opening match of the 2024 AFC Asian Cup on January 15, 2024.
The 23-year-old midfielder opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a stunning strike from outside the box. He then doubled South Korea's lead in the 56th minute with a clinical finish after a neat pass from Hwang Hee-chan.
South Korea were pegged back in the 60th minute when Bahrain's Abdulla Al-Hajhashi scored from close range. However, Lee restored South Korea's two-goal lead in the 74th minute with a brilliant assist for Hwang to score his second goal of the game.
The win was a confidence-boosting start for South Korea, who are aiming to win the Asian Cup for the first time since 1960.
