Why Do Some People Have Green Eyes?

My sister in law has green eyes. Her mom my MIL has brown eyes. Her dad has blue eyes. How did that happen if it's not supposed to? Her dad is Her bio dad via genetic test.

I’ve had every eye color as a child😅Brown, then blue for 2 days, hazel started to pop out for a year which then my eyes changed colors to grey on and off around December which it still does and now my eyes are Green😌😌But everyone in my family has Brown eyes so HOW DID FHIS JAPPEN?!?!?!

Eye color may also be influenced diet. My eyes were brown until recently and are now green. Eight years ago I switched my diet to low carb. So I conclude two possibilities. Either diet changed gene expression or had direct effect on eye color.

My dad had red,I really RED ! Green eyes ruddy faced ! He was SCOTCH/ IRISH decent! I have green eyes ,Auburn hair ( turning silver now) freckles! My dad’s mother had grey eyes and I never met my grandfather because he died from a cut that got infected before antibiotics were invented back in 1932 but I’m guessing he had brown. But according to the study of genetics Brown eyes can be Bb or BB which means the gene for brown eyes is represented by the capital B and the lower case b is blue BB eyes are two genes of the dominate Brown eye gene. Bb is one dominate brown eye gene mixed with the blue eye gene which they carry but display the brown eyes but they can have a blue eyed child if they marry a blue eyed person or marry another person who has brown eyes but carries the blue eye gene. So what you said is wrong. You don’t know genetics as well as you think.

My mother had blue eyes, my father had Hazel eyes. I had bright blue eyes until puberty. Then they turned green, sometimes grey, depending on the weather and what I'm wearing. My oldest grandaughter's eyes also went from blue to green/grey at puberty. My oldest son went from blue to grey in his teens.

I have green eyes, very green, could not be mistaken for blue or brown because it's a completely different colour. At least 80% of the time someone says they have green eyes you look and they are clearly blue, generally light blue, most of the rest have hazel. They are still pretty eyes just not green. Yes green is cool because it's rare but you can't call your blue eyes green and have it be true.

We also gave a high rate of RH negative blood type. Two rare traits. 👽

My father has chameleon type eyes which it changes different colors but don’t understand why. It will be brown, then change to a light brown to greenish color then light blue it’s weird.
