One thing I will definitely continue doing is going to the occasional Indian buffet. But because of struggling with weight in my 20s and early 30s, it has to be occasional and I also try to focus more on tasting everything than on eating a ton of food. The value that I feel like I’m getting my moneys worth is by trying a lot of different foods at the same time that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to taste during that meal. Since if we do order takeout from that restaurant, we are limited to a couple of things. I am not saying that I don’t ever stuff myself at the buffet, lol, but I focus every time on a sampler platter and will scoop as small portions as possible to make sure that I save room to try it all rather than using up my appetite early and think I missed out.
Love all of your videos! You’ve been one of my favorite channels lately so great whether I’m getting ready or on my commute home. I always feel like I have something to be inspired by entertained by or learn from you.
Live in Isreal, we give at least 10 percent from any order in a caff or restorant.
ОтветитьI usually love your channel, but this list is kind of useless.
ОтветитьAt all you can eat buffets I find myself with a plate of very strange food combinations. I hate amusement parks, hot, sweaty, crowded and expensive!
ОтветитьI am there with you about the beige and the red 😅. Also about the kids choosing their colors. I never liked pink and my daughter is obsessed with pink lol.
ОтветитьNo tipping necessary in Ireland but we do to be nice😊
ОтветитьPing courteous rule is 10% of the bill although some people will only offer £2 regardless of the bill. Some restaurants for parties of 6 or more will add 12% automatically to the bill but people can decline to pay that.Takeaway delivery nobody tips as a rule, some people may tip £1 if they feel generous. I try to tip £× as my standard and they are always really grateful.
ОтветитьThank you….I could never get my moneys worth at a buffet….especially at the ones in Vegas…..with the money I spent on a failed attempt to eat my moneys worth, I could eat for a couple of weeks preparing my food at home…😊
ОтветитьTipping has gotten ridiculous in the USA. It used to be 10% for exceptional service. Now it’s 20% for almost anything, just for them doing their job. I wish we’d slow down on it. I would rather have the price up front on the service, reflecting a fair wage for the job.
ОтветитьI NEVER tip. I am a savagè
ОтветитьHave you ever “got your moneys worth” from a wHOre?
ОтветитьhAvE yOU EVeR bEEEn to koREAN baarBq?
ОтветитьSeasonal holiday spending [Christmas / Black Friday] is something I refuse to spend money on. Often times, the best time to get value for your money is never around the holidays. Planning is important. 😊
Ответить`12 % tip only because , we go out maybe every 6 months when invited with friends. And skip all ads to avoid temptations.
ОтветитьThanks for the insight!💯
ОтветитьHi, I am curious, how old is your mother in law?
ОтветитьI live in Great Britain we don’t tend to tip it’s not expected, although I used to be a barmaid and we always got tipped (must of been really good) 😂
ОтветитьShopping addictions… People are trying to fill a VOID in their lives!!!!!
🥺👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
STOP buying CRAP!!!!!!!

#7 Saas: Subscription as a service. Welcome to the future…😡
ОтветитьMy parents loved the all you can eat buffets too. There's one they still like to take us to, and we join them, but I just look at it as an opportunity to see my food first and feeling like I have more options instead of eating all I can eat. I think it's easier than ordering chinese or thai food from a menu. Sometimes when I order from a menu I'm a little disappointed with what arrives. Like it didn't have as much sauce as i thought or maybe it ended up being sweet instead of savory like I wanted. If you're disappointed with an all you can eat buffet item, you can just replace it easily. The methodology when I was a kid was definately to get our money's worth, and that mindset changed as an adult.
ОтветитьA GOKU REFERENCE
ОтветитьAlso, my husband and I stopped exchanging “expected” gifts years ago as well. We found it silly when we were gifting each other things we could/would easily buy ourselves. Now, if we happen to buy each other a gift, it’s spontaneous, special, and much more meaningful. ❤
ОтветитьRegarding food delivery; I factor the extra expense in as a luxury; the freedom of not having to spend time/energy cooking if I’m not up for doing so. ❤
ОтветитьTipping has become a thing in Estonia in the last 10 years. It's the US media influence and a lot of peole have probably travelled to places that has tipping. So the restaurants have adopted the custom. But it's not considered polite to ask for the tip or make a fuss if the server was not tipped. There's a jar at the counter that has "tips" on it. So customers can put coins in it.
I usually do not tip because servers get a fair wage and I feel like the prices of food and drinks are very expensive anyway. I only tip if the server was very very good. Not just doing a job. I think a lot of people in Estonia feel the same.
I also think people in Estonia tip more if the bill was bigger that usual (a special occasion) not just to get food in the stomach.
You ring so many bells .. I have never had my nails done nor a manicure second is like you can't stand people touching my feet except my Podiatrist ( I have diabetes and get my feet checked often) honestly I do not trust the sanitary conditions of nail salons, never had a massage except by my husband, haven't had my hair cut in about 25 years ( I do my own). I pay my credit cards off within a week or two rarely wait for the bill to come and take a chance even doing it electronically on it not being credit in time. I love All You Can Eat Buffets have to admit that for me it's fun to try different foods all in one place but we don't have any in our city since Covid. Anna In Ohio
ОтветитьI watched this video just in time. I forgot that our Netflix account (that I paused for a month) was going to unpause tomorrow, and we would have gotten charged again. Fortunately, I saw this video, which reminded me to go in and continue to pause it for another month.
ОтветитьNot a big believer in the "new" tipping culture.
If you are paid at least minimum wage, you aren't entitled to tips ... unless you've provided some extraordinary function, above and beyond your job description.
The only buffet that we go to is all you can eat Korean bbq 😅 of course we can make it at home but so much time and ingredients to prepare so we go ones a month 😊
ОтветитьI don't understand the concept of tipping, especially the waitress/waiter when the food is good. The waitress/waiter did not cook the food, the cook did but we never tip the cook. If we are going to tip, it should go to everyone who deserves the credit or not tip at all.
ОтветитьI only tip at a sit down restaurant with table service, and never more than 15% rounded to the next whole dollar.
ОтветитьTipping is a choice, should never be expected from any customer. It's the customers decision.
ОтветитьSad beige potate family 😂😂😂
I don't make nails as well, only simple nail polish for special occasions, for one evening, after that i need to remove it asap😊
Aall you can eat.. is exactly that... all done.
ОтветитьTipping culture is so out of hand in the US that I just avoid services that are likely to result in someone saying "Just a few questions for ya..." and flipping their iPad in my direction. Of course I tip in sit down restaurants but I mostly avoid environments where someone is gonna want a tip.
ОтветитьI agree: the tipping should be for good service, not beforehand anyway (I'm hailing from Lower-Saxony by the way ;) ). I'm totally with you regarding live concerts (except classical concerts maybe), but all these people in one place and the loudness, it makes me feel crazy only by thinking about it.
Thank you for this video, very informative as always.
20% in Ontario Canada- and you’ll get “looks”
ОтветитьSince you asked about tipping-
In my area of the U.S. (rural east Oregon), tipping is not expected for minimum wage earners, even for great service. e.g. fast food workers (even non-franchise), gas station attendants, CNAs, many child care workers, retail, food prep, etc.
Servers (wait staff) get paid at least minimum wage, so it always baffles me why many people easily drop a 15-20% tip even for "average" service.
It's actually an expected part of going out to eat at a restaurant. It's been so ingrained over the decades that it's considered rude to not tip, even if the service is merely doing the baseline of the job.
Personally, I don't tip unless the service is *exceptional*, above and beyond. However, my wife always makes sure the wait staff gets a 20% tip even for nominal service.
I live in America and I tip based on service. I dont like when its expected or when its included on the bill, which ive seen at sime restaurants.
ОтветитьThanks*
ОтветитьI am in the UK and we rarely tip food delivery drivers.
I agree with avoiding subscription services. My aim is to have as few as possible; in fact I currently have zero! On the other hand I do enjoy a good massage though!
I feel like all you can eat buffeess are kinda "buy everythin but like maybe one thing" sort of deal. I bought instructions for a knitted sweater yesterday. With that price I could've bought a whole magazine of knitting instructions but maybe none of them would've been kinds I like or fit with the yarn I already have.
We pay for things like Max or Netflix et. But only one at a time. When wee find a show wee want to watch, but it's under other service, we cancel the one we have currently
Tipping is out of control in New York City
ОтветитьIn SoCal. I'm not tipping unless it's a sit down restaurant where they come to the table to take my order and bus the table. Fast food workers now make more than me so no thank you.
Also, i hate cable, but taking care of my aging parents, my mom loves it. The ratio of ads to shows are ridiculous and I mute the loud annoying ads every time because my philosophy is if they aren't paying me to watch thwm, then it ain't happening.
The only thing I have is interest and late fees. Sad but due to medical issues I have
ОтветитьHere in US... I hate the tipping culture.... however, since we don't pay servers anything, tips are necessary in restaurants. Not everywhere!
ОтветитьI don't agree. All you can eat if you go once in 2 or 3 months I don't think will hurt you.
If you on everyday don't eat fast food. That one time in months won't hurt. My kids love it because they can see what they pick. Is just easy for them.
In Finland we don't have a tipping culture.
