Every time I see Josh with a 335, it looks like a 339. Dude must be giant.
ОтветитьMy bass rig is worth $800 and I have 3 pedals :) I can do anything I’ve wanted.
ОтветитьIt’s not actually fair to compare SD-1 and Klon. Not because of the price, they just give different kinda overdrives. It would be more fair to put some other Boss pedal against Klon…. OD-3 suits better here.. Or any Klon clone for example, or Tube Screamer
ОтветитьEverything is in the hands and how you play, I think. Imagine someone playing an expensive gear in a more delicate way just because it costs so much. And on the other hand if something is cheap ussualy doesnt get treated the same way, and ends up beaten and used with less "touch" and care.
So, just care more about how you play, I guess.
Crazy how good all three sounded.
ОтветитьYou can get a Gibson es 335 for 1000$ in the us?
ОтветитьA gifted artist can make any equipment sound amazing and a not so talented musician can make the best equipment sound like crap. I've had both ends of the scale and the high end gear is definitely a pleasure to play,. A lot of the low ends stuff isn't really so bad, once it is set up properly or a few tweaks done. Learning the craft is will make you sound good, no matter what you play.
ОтветитьI have to say that I like cheap guitars because I eventually break just about everything I touch. So a cheap guitar that plays well is always something I'm interested in. I will probably never move away from my bass man tweedie but man its getting ugly as it ages.
ОтветитьWhelp, here's another video that just tells me "YOU'RE the problem, NOT your gear" 😢
ОтветитьFirefly guitars are unreal
ОтветитьDamn, $900 for a 335. I have never seen that. I started in '03
ОтветитьGuitar players owe it to themselves to learn to solder and make their own pedals. Fuzz faces cost over a hundred dollars while you can build them with a couple of dollars worth of components. The same applies to tubescreamers, the various bmp versions, the Rat, DOD 250, etc. The beauty comes in modifying them to your tastes. Use different tone circuits, different clipping diodes, etc.
ОтветитьDoes anybody want to trade their expensive guitar for a cheap guitar I'm in
ОтветитьTheres just no way That I could enjoy the middle or the expensive rigs,Knowing theres hungry people and pets on death row in the world ,But thats just me,My guitars are old and my 78 tele was given to me and so was my 2008 strat,But I do believe in budget ,3 to 500 .00 guitars and a stompman pedal amp ,Works for me.
ОтветитьI’m gonna buy another JHS pedal just for the simple fact that no other gear manufacturer operates with so much integrity and honesty. Kudos
ОтветитьThoughts on Donner pedal product? More specifically ... their pedal power supply?
ОтветитьBravo pour les sous-titres en Français.....!
ОтветитьJosh makes those 335’s look like Les Paul Juniors
Ответитьive taken those beringer pedals out of the plastic housing, soldred a foot switch and installed it in a metal case. that plastic will break if you stomp it enough, but its not the end oof the world if it does
ОтветитьI mix cheap with expensive.
Ответить" it's hard to beat a Boss style pedal " but not impossible, unless it's the new NS-1X ...that one is going to be on almost everyone's pedal board for many decades.
i run tier 1-1/2 to 2 ....it's not bad.....i mean i can get my noise floor low enough to use NS-1X reduction mode with 3 single coils.
Collings are made in dripping springs now Austin.
ОтветитьA 3000$ dollar guitar pedal with just 3 knobs??? That’s 1000$ a knob!!!
ОтветитьBought my First jhs 2 weeks ago, an AT with boost. I tried it before. Omg. It blew my mind. I urge people to buy one. Put ts before the AT and use less Paul for the best slash sounds. If you dial it in, you can even hear yourself sound like the certain Irish guitar god called Gary.
ОтветитьI feel like there's a huge tier missing between tiers 2 and 3.
Ответить"Blues Lawyer" 😂😂
ОтветитьI'm 65 and I can afford better, but my Fender squire sound great to me and I have a blast with it. Dont see any reason to upgrade until I find something I can do that the guitar cannot.
ОтветитьHow much for the speaker cabinets that the amps are being okayed thru? Or did i miss that?
Ответить"The work'n man" So nice
ОтветитьListening to this through my phone’s speakers… it really shows the difference.
ОтветитьDamn, I paid more for my Baritone Uke than that Firefly costs
Ответить335s in Canada are about $3500+ new.
ОтветитьSo for guitars this is the most accurate but it applies somewhat to other gear but basically the difference between a $300, $3k or 30k guitar is you’ll pay 10x’s as much for something that plays and sounds 10% better. And to be honest I’ve heard and played a guitar that basically no one would look twice at that cost $30 used and it played and sounded better than a guitar valued over 10k. There is no guarantees. Check things out and decide for yourself. Oh and btw I’m a luthier and since not everyone is going to want or pay for something I build, take this all with a grain of salt but clearly I’m not trying to pimp my own or another luthiers work, although some are amazing don’t get me wrong. Proper set up and maybe some key upgrades that make sense and you happy or do what you need for what you play are all you really need at the end of the day for a guitar.
ОтветитьAnother thing to highlight about these 3 rigs, is while there will be some differences between tiers in terms of sound, you made useable tones from all 3 rigs.
ОтветитьI definitely live in the middle tier, but some of the most fun I've ever had was a Mexican tele into an old Peavey Bandit and a Proco RAT.
ОтветитьYour band and your playing are really fun to listen to. That's all I'm going to say.
ОтветитьAn honest guy....😮
ОтветитьFairly certain that Firefly fixed the issue with the pickups being microphonic.
Ответить"Back in my day" Lol! Entry level gear these days is light years ahead of some of the junk I had. Years from now people will probably say the same thing. The great thing is you don't have to be a beginner to buy decent inexpensive gear. We all win!
Ответить$3,000 for a klon back then, now they're closer to $5,000-6,000 at cheapest
ОтветитьThis video is a prime reminder that sometimes the gear doesn't make you good, your skill also matters. That cheap rig sounded soooo good, and the equipment was up to snuff to match the great playing.
ОтветитьThose amplifies still need speakers, right? Or cabinets or whatever....all of them? What would be a comparable cabinet (or combo) in each category?
ОтветитьI now live and play in SE Asia. I have many top end boutique pedals and can afford anything I want (love my JHS Morning Glory by the way). But the top brands can be hard to find here for the average musician. There are some incredible clones of great pedals that you can get here very cheap. 2 that come to mind are clones of the Friedman BE OD and the Walrus Eon. Chinese clones. I own both of these original pedals. For fun I bought the clones - both under $100. I literally could not tell the difference and I was impressed with how well they are made. The Friedman cannot be sold into the US as the circuit is protected but not sure about the Walrus clone. But yeah - you can get great bargains from some cheaper clones. AliExpress is the best place to find these quality knock offs.
ОтветитьI‘m a bassist so you can ignore my opinion but i liked the sound of the cheapest the best. The expensive delay was cool but tc did it’s job. I personally think i might like the cheaper sounds because that’s the gear of the indie musicians i mostly listen to. 🤷🏽♂️
ОтветитьIs that Collings the same size as a gibson 335?
Ответитьthe playinh in this video is amazing!!!
ОтветитьYou know Josh has a great video when you hit the like button right at the intro!
ОтветитьOk. So what exact 335 is that? The headstock is satin and there's no binding. But the body is gloss with cream binding. Is it a buffed out satin? Is it a 333 with installed pickguard? No for both. The satin has a bound neck and the 333 had silk screen headstock.
It looks really cool with no neck binding, but again, what model is that?
It doesn’t matter if you can afford an expensive gear, if you can’t play, it still going to suck
Ответить
