Typical Mikey Bloomberg published propaganda. Complete BS from start to finish. Don't waste your time. Waldman should be embarrassed and ashamed.

Waldman is no great thinker he is a sophist of the lowest order picking and choosing pieces of history to fit his agenda no more no less.
. Given the rate at which he miss quotes or creatively interprets history I fully expect it is no better than Arming America the now repudiated Bancroft prize non winner

The 2nd Amendment reflects the founding principles of America as expressed in the Declaration of Independence: that the people are created equal and endowed by the Creator with Unalienable Rights (Natural Rights); the purpose of government is to secure these rights; that government exists only at the people's consent; any government destructive of these ends may be altered or abolished by the people. The U.S. Constitution stands on the foundation of these founding principles in the Declaration. The wording of the 2nd Amendment clearly shows the "right of the people to keep and bear arms" to be an "Unalienable Right" that cannot be infringed by government.

As long as America stands on the foundational principles of the Declaration, which the Constitution upholds, the 2nd Amendment is a foundational stone that will never be dislodged. To dissolve the 2nd Amendment would require America to dissolve the very principles the country was founded upon.

Someone tell Waldmen there is no "gunshow loophole" by claiming that he loses credibility. Using car fatalities is also not relevant when you consider that 99% of those are accidental. He talks about safety and yet ignore the many cases where someone used a gun to protect themselves...why is that?

I understand that this video is 7 years old but your viewpoint that Militias were created to ward off foreign enemy's was not it's only purpose. It also included domestic tyranny. The power of the government comes from the people.

What about KKK mob violence and the laws that were racially designed to limit blacks from firearms. These types of "may issue" laws still occur to this day.

In your research who were the "wrong type of people" not allowed to own guns?

1939 gun laws prohibited, among other things, the sale of Machine automatic firearms . In 1970 a law was passed to prevent Cigarette ads on TV. Hollywood has spent 100s of millions on Movies and TV shows that show the use of Automatic firearms. This is given the public the perception of what guns in America are. This explains why, among other reasons, the NRA members support

Law abiding citizens agree with Thomas Jefferson. One love to possess arms but never use them.. Criminals don't.
