All of the spaghetti westerns

So beautiful !!!
ОтветитьBreathe Pink Floyd, if not mentioned.
ОтветитьLove these videos of yours Rick!
ОтветитьWithout checking, maybe Bjork's play dead is dorian?
ОтветитьBeautiful atmospherics on the tune. Smooth, peaceful, and introspective. I could use listening more of this type! Peace Rick and thank you for the peaceful interlude.
ОтветитьDorian and lydian are so nice
ОтветитьLA Woman starts in A Mixolydian but soon changes to A Dorian in the first verse. The opening guitar line clearly has the 6 and 3 in the intro, but the verse guitar lick played between the vocal lines has the 6 and the flat3. Great tune to play and sing.
ОтветитьThat time you realise those years you spent composing was mostly Dorian without knowing what you were doing has a mode name! 🤣
ОтветитьSoooo beautifullllll!!!! 😘👍👏🌹
ОтветитьWell, everybody loves Dorian except the Genoans.
ОтветитьGrey cloudy day light rain in the autumn = Dorian
ОтветитьI love you man. Thx for inspiring us all to be better musicians!
ОтветитьWell, I guess this answers the stupid question: Did the Beatles understand music theory?
ОтветитьIs dorian used in star wars a new hope when luke is looking out at the two moons hoping for something better?
ОтветитьThe first time I ever heard Santana playing those beautiful Dorian mode scales over a rock jam I was hooked.
ОтветитьPoor Rick. He just doesn't know anything about music ;)
ОтветитьImpressions by John Coltrane is based on the Bridge of the Pavane from Morton Gould's American Symphonette.
Ответитьsounds like halo
ОтветитьCheck out Frank Zappa's Black Napkins.
ОтветитьBeautiful composition Rick, it makes you feel dorian...like time passes but it´s still...like Dorian Gray.
ОтветитьEvery pink floyd song
ОтветитьYou interviewed Kirk Hammett recently. A lot of his best leads use the Dorian mode avidly.
ОтветитьMarvin Gaye - Trouble Man...Dorian?
ОтветитьIncredible explanations and knowledge!!! 🎼
Ответитьcheck out christian brother by Elliot smith it goes from aeolian to dorian
ОтветитьI always just thought of Dorian as the Santana or Pink Floyd mode. Thank you for giving me a deeper appreciation.
ОтветитьMclaughlin's song , "Devotion"
ОтветитьHopeful sadness...
ОтветитьD Dorian is easy. It's All white keys.
ОтветитьDorian feels untethered, like it just floats around without any resolution but it doesn't need a sense of resolution because every note and chord in that mode feels right. Dorian has such a dreamlike quality to me.
ОтветитьI don't understand what is meant by the raised 6th. It's the same as in Ionian, which is 2 half steps or 1 whole step. The 7th scale degree is flat (te in solfege) which is different than Ionian. But the 6th scale degree is the same as in a major key
ОтветитьWhipping Post..Memory of Elizabeth Reed.....Allman Brothers loved a bit of Dorian
ОтветитьIts just like abheri raga from indian music
ОтветитьDragon Age Inquisition’s soundtrack also uses both D Dorian and D Aeolian in the main theme. It’s one of my favorite modal themes
ОтветитьMy favourite mode by a mile. Brilliant video rick. That piece you composed along with the supporting imagery was absolutely beautiful. Get well soon mate
ОтветитьThe Low Spark of High Heeled Boy ❤
ОтветитьDorian is too creepy for me. I don't like it. I like Myxoldian much more. Dorian is give up time.
ОтветитьWonderful explanation ! It seems I have heard this mode in Irish music and when 5b degree is added (Miles Davis , great Rock lead guitar ...) it sounds to me rather like hebraïc mode - As the Aeolian mode can fit with sadness this one does the same with a touch of anger maybe when played loud and fast - Keep on rockin' !
ОтветитьA few years ago the eastern US was threatened by Hurricaine Dorian. I woner how many organists that Sunday played pieces in the Dorian mode?
ОтветитьI like the D Dorian sound.
ОтветитьThe theme from the 1990 film Jacobs Ladder has a something like a shift to dorian in it. It has a lot of up snd down aeolian key shifts as well.
ОтветитьDorian is very comfortable for British musicians, because so much of traditional British folk music IS in dorian. They literally grew up singing in dorian.
