How do you all not know that Dr Thomas walker was the first through the gap.if you do know I apologize, it’s like as Kentuckians yes we’re proud of him but he wasn’t the first. Dr Thomas walker was the first European to explore it. And survey it with George Roger’s Clark. It’s true history. Boonesbough was built till after several forts failed. Love history and can tell y’all so much an show you Spanish marks in the rocks and native marks in rocks. I’m brad from Eastern Kentucky. My family migrated here with Boone I can show you Daniel daughter and grand daughter graves and two of his yongunds

I'm trying to watch I love the series about the food that built America..but it is absolutely disturbing..that they act like and disregard the land already had occupants...the narration is so misleading they basically stole it and slaughtered the ppl ....running themselves from religious persecution....monsters to me but nonetheless it is still American history...😢..

Native tribes traded with settlers for weapons to fight other tribes…if they teamed up they would of maintained their land…same thing happened in Ireland between warring clans

Wait a minute… even the noble founding fathers disrespected the natural rights of natives to have their land undisturbed?

I guess they weren’t so noble after all.

Beards were not popular AT ALL among White people during the 18th century (and Indians couldn't grow them even if they wanted). Clean-shavenness was the order of the day, and Daniel Boone was no exception to this. Even in his old age, he remained clean-shaven, which you can see in his portrait from when he was about 85.

"They push into the unknown"... Lie 1.
it was already known and inhabitanted.😂

"They fight for a dream" they stole the land.

To transform a beautiful Forrest into a cramped, polluted and over priced city

They sold us a bill of false goods I think
😢

Why do they all have beards? None of the men they talk about wore beards at that time. It's inaccurate. Frontiersmen shaved. We know that in part because their lists of supplies included straight razors and shaving soap, and traders on the early frontier sold these items. Some producer must have decided they look better with beards, but that is historically incorrect.

I do not understand the promotion of these white men.
Every place they went is where native people lived.
So how are they being portrayed as somebody rugged and tough ⁉️

Most of the time like Columbus they were lost.

They actually get natives to guide them through the country.

America is such a lie.🎉
