So, what is the next show you two are going to discuss? 👀
ОтветитьLuke Skywalker is a drill instructor named Zim who captured a Brain.
ОтветитьTony def would have done this podcast if yall asked lol
ОтветитьI can't get enough of andor and you guys talking about it. Greetings from Argentina
ОтветитьYes, relieved we were spared "somehow Kino Loy returned."
ОтветитьThere's something about trying to recreate young faces that makes it super difficult. For all of the Tarkin discourse, it looks better than the young Leia and Luke faces
ОтветитьWhat would be fun is if someone could compare characters of Andor to people in the Trump administration. The people in the Trump administration are alll dumber than the people on the dark side, but just as mean and evil... who would Noem the puppy killer be most like? We may have to cast the net farther than Andor to find people 🤔
ОтветитьYeah the corporate blaster was pretty obvious - Vel actually recognizes the blaster specifically as Andor’s from the heist
ОтветитьI'm a 63 yo fan (saw Star Wars at age 15) and while I'm not a trivia diva (and fighting with vascular dementia), I recognized the blaster as the one Andor took from Karn. My reaction at the time was 'oh hey, Melshi kept the blaster' which I couldn't put together until he spoke up.
ОтветитьRe: a Dedra in prison spin-off. Since according to the data records Dedra's "scavenging" (actually Lonni stealing her credentials) is indistinguishable from a Rebel spy's, someone online suggested a point over the course of the original trilogy when the Alliance is liberating political prisoners from Imperial prisons, and they end up giving Dedra a medal for her part in the Death Star's destruction, which she hates. 😂
ОтветитьAndor says to Skreen "I didn't get a name..." when he's asked who he took it from. (Who are you? - ep 8)
Syril's blaster goes with Melshi to Scarif and helps the Rebels in getting the Death Star plans... which leads to its destruction.
I want to give thanks to David Chen, because as you said, some of your comments were often criticized, but I believe you raised a lot of great points that I wouldn't have thought about myself
Ответитьrecasting works >>> Bail Organa
ОтветитьSisterhood of the Traveling Blaster
ОтветитьIn my head canon the Perrin thing is true (that he knew what was up and protected Mon by never revealing anything, not necessarily that they later had a chat about it), but even without it I think he's not shown only as a shitty guy. Yes, he's a shitty husband, yes, he has checked out from the suffering under the Empire, but he at least is a good father: He's not for the traditional Chandrillan marriage thing, but when his daughter (with the support of his wife) decides for it, he goes along but makes sure at least his daughter is gonna be the one with the upper hand in the relationship (see that scene where he asks Skulden about the son being able to handle Leida "not going to be easy").
ОтветитьIf they had cast a princess Leia it would have been cool if it was her daughter (who I know was already in another starwars movie as a different character, but still). That said, I'm glad it didn't get further than an idea stage
ОтветитьJin has more than just one impt line.

Regarding Tivik and Luthan’s intel about the Death Star, it wasn’t ONLY that there were independent sources confirming the information, though yes that was a big part of it. Luthan’s intel was that the funding in the senate and the Ghorman massacre and mining on Jedha were all a front for a super weapon. But he didn’t know any details on the type of weapon or exactly how dangerous it was. This wasn’t enough information for the rebel council to take any action at the time. Tivik’s intel in R1 confirmed Luthen’s, but took it two steps further. It let them know the weapon was a “planet killer”, and also that there was a message with further details on Jedha from Galen (through Bodhi’s defection.) Those details let them know about the weakness in the Death Star.
Tivik’s intel was enough to flip the council members all the way to the opposite side of the- from doing nothing, to wanting to just give up and surrender because they now knew how powerful the Death Star was.
that last comment about “the Andor lineage” made me cringe and goes to show how much Star Wars fans still can’t get over the Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker reveal, so much so that everybody has to be somebody else’s kid.
it’s especially ironic considering if there’s one thing to take away from Andor regarding familial ties, it is exactly that the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb — the family that we find becomes just as if not more important than the family that we are born into. Cassian was a foundling. Kleya was a foundling. Wilmon becomes orphaned. Jyn Erso is also adopted.
Hell you can say that about almost every Star Wars — Luke and Leia are foundlings. Han is a foundling. Rey is a foundling. the Mandalorian is a foundling. Grogu is a foundling.
in fact, it’s people who are attached or grew up knowing their birth parents that end up turning evil. Syril, Anakin, Kylo Ren.
I hope that Gilroy ends up revealing that Bix’s child isn’t Cassian’s, and it was more of a thematic ending that ties to Luthen’s speech more than a literal ending, just to spite that last comment, and others that think like him
Kleya's story following the battle of yavin is falling in love with Vel. I ship it.
ОтветитьI don't consider myself hardcore, but I caught the significance of the blaster as soon as we saw Melshi's face.
Ответить"Investiture Week," aka "Vesty Week", took place during the second arc of season 2. The new senators were being invested with their positions in the Senate, and were thus holding parties. That's what the whole scene with the "Oathkeeper" in the Senate was about ("An Empire!").
ОтветитьAndor solves the Jyn Erso problem in Rogue One because she is now only one person in this world that we have the bare minimum of backstory for. And she’s not the only one who improves. All the minor characters suddenly pop, because our brain is trained to empathize with people who we know only through their relationship to the Empire and the Rebellion.
ОтветитьMelshi got vaporized along with Cereal’s blaster. End of the blasters story.
ОтветитьRe: Princess Leia. There’s 8 billion people on this planet. Most people have at least one credible doppelgänger. I would imagine a company as big as Disney could find a believable doppelgänger for a young Carrie Fisher. The CGI on Rogue was so hideous. The face swap of Luke in the Mandelorian was marginally better, but still disturbingly bad.
ОтветитьWas the blaster Andor gave to Melshi Cereal’s blaster, or the blaster he took off the corpo he killed on Morlana One? He didn’t ask either of them their names.
ОтветитьWe need more andor discussion! Thanks for all your work
ОтветитьLeda? The Empire abducted her and threatend Mon Mothma with her torture and death if she didn't hand herself in. Mon said, "F-it... Keep her!"
ОтветитьCasting was not the issue with Solo lol
ОтветитьWould not be opposed to you guys doing another Andor episode every month in perpetuity.
ОтветитьA cameo of Galen Eros would have been cool…like a quick shot in the background of him walking with Krennic through a hall in Coruscant while the main shot is following Dedra as she walks through a building.
ОтветитьWatching Rogue 1 the empire forces seem really nerfed.
ОтветитьThe significance of the blaster (which most fans including me recognised) was to help characterize Vel as being very astute.
ОтветитьListen, nobody remembers what happens in Rogue One
Ответитьunfortunately the gun was blown up on scarif
ОтветитьThe only logical thing is to reach out to Disney to get an interview with Tony
ОтветитьBecause I don’t want to stop - who cares
ОтветитьWait, I thought Star Wars was about space wizards for kids….
ОтветитьThey already brilliantly and accurately recast Harrison Ford, it was 1989, the actor was River Phoenix and the film was The Last Crusade. It can be done. Solo, was an absolute mess.
ОтветитьWe’ll never see something like Andor again within our lifetime. And that’s ok. This is a story that serves its purpose setting up the original trilogy. It is also a somber reminder that there are individuals who sacrificed everything for the greater good but will never get a statue or biopic.
The Andor series plus Rogue One have forever changed how I look at Star Wars. After the prequel and sequel trilogies, I now, understand why Lucas was hesitant to make the prequels…and why the sequel trilogy was premature and had zero stakes.
Just 30 yrs after the Empire collapsed, the galaxy said, “Boo democracy restored! Bring back oppression!” I find it hard to believe Mon & Leia were that stupid to allow it to happen on their watch. Never mind the First Order built a bigger Death Star that was twice as easy to destroy. 🤷♂️
Andor is not profitable. It cost 3/4 billion dollars for just 2 seasons. Disney Dubai better rake in the money 💰 to pay for those losses. However I will give credit, the most checked out exec Kathleen Kennedy signed off on something no exec would have. And we have a glorious adult Star Wars story which is the grit and horror before the fairy tale of Luke Skywalker. Bravo 👏
The Kleya spinoff series should be called "The Bad Bitch"
ОтветитьNo one from Yarvin rebels could get Saw Gerrera to show them the hologram of Dr. Erso. Except his daughter. Who Saw raised. Or you could do the whole movie over & Wilmon could get it from Saw. Since they're rhidomioum sniffer buddies. But Jin is a sore thumb the movie.
ОтветитьIt dead Jim we've tried everything but it's dead.
ОтветитьThe blaster helps vel remember aldhani and cinta
Ответить
