I have a question. So the reason I was checking this out is that I'm curious about how to get Spotify to be in the background of my voice while I am speaking. Would this be able to redirect a music app to be the same audio output as my microphone. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. In my scenario, I am using a game capture software, but for some reason on mac they only allow one input for audio, and I am trying to find software I could just redirect my music to the same output as my microphone.

Thank you for the great intro and review! The app looks super cool! I have the challenge at the moment to output sound to my airpods, but use my usb mic as an input. For some strange reason it does not work with the standard macos sound settings. The airpods always switch to their microphone or i dont hear anything via them when I actually manage to activate the usb mic. Do you have any experiences with that specific use case? I will try soundsource nevertheless, its one of those apps, which you dont know you needed until you have it ;) thanks!

I had a question about this that I was hoping to get your advice on. I think I might be asking something that your video already covered but I just wanted to double check to make sure I understand.

What I want is to get only one application audio (such as OBS or Zoom) to output to the headphone jack and not have any other audio sources go there. I suppose all other audio sources would either go to the macbook speakers or be muted entirely.

Does this sound possible to do with this software? I know your video covers directing an audio source to a device (such as headphone jack) but I want to make sure you can also block all other audio sources from going out to that same device. It's for a church setup (trying to merge in person service with live-streaming service) and it's been a real struggle to try and solve some audio feedback issues we've been having and I was hoping this software could help out with it.

What about picking specific input/output settings for a particular application that doesn't allow you to physically go into settings to pick them yourself? For instance: In my Mac I downloaded the Playstation remote play application which allows me to play the Playstation remotely on my Mac but the app itself doesn't allow me to go into settings and pick my own input/output.

Apple is right to disable volume controls. They are trying to prevent the situation where users are hunting around for why they can't hear sound, adjusting the keyboard volume and blaming the poor experience on their Mac when they still can't hear anything. They have been working on direct adjustment of monitor volume over the HDMI data interface but not all monitors support this, which is not Apple's fault (and there is probably a hidden option to enable it again).

They have some very smart people working for Apple, maybe consider that before criticising them.

Help me On Mac Ventura I can't find the "Allow" option in "security and privacy" to enable this app.

If i buy this for my laptop then later upgrade to a desktop can i transfer my license to my new computer?

Can audio hijack do what soundsource does? Or do they work side by side for different tasks?

Hey Chris, hope you can advise me if SoundSource is what will work for me: I want to use my Audio Input to be the Logic X app on my Macbook Air M2 and transfer that audio to my iPhone 12 Pro Max, so when I livestream on instagram (through my iPhone); people can hear what I'm playing through Logic (Guitar & Vocals, on my Macbook) in the livestream. Is that possible with SoundSource? If so; is there any noticeable latency? I'd really appreciate your response/advice if you have the time. I wanna livestream, playing new songs & this seems like it would get the job done. Cheers!

trying to use it just as you showed but somehow it does not work. So I change balance left to right - which must be clearly hearable but it is showing no changes. What could be wrong? Volume controller is working though

bruh 50$ is insane though. i m all for paying for my software but I just wanna control basic audio settings. like this amount of money is comparable to some of my professional lvl apps like Clip studio paint, affinity designer or Procreat. not paying that for a feature that should be standard to begin with.
in comparison to these pro apps provides a very limited service. feels like a ripoff
10$-20$ would still be expensive but more justifiable.
