What about LMAD from 1984 when he subbed for Monty Hall?
ОтветитьEmil Autouri worked for Lloyd's of London? 😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьI think I read that Geoff Edwards and Jack Barry couldn't get along. Am I right on this?
ОтветитьThere are three of the five episodes of the Geoff Edwards week of LMAD85 on Dailymotion, taped off recent reruns from Buzzr. David Downs posted them.
ОтветитьDidnt Geoff Edwards take off one of his shoes and a sock on one of his shows?
ОтветитьI think Starcade was the first time I saw Geoff Edwards as a host. Glad this show was remembered!
Ответитьmy son likes the ones on brainsurge besides the wwe edition cause of global wrestling federation on espn classic that's still on cable and at&t
ОтветитьNever heard of Cop Out. Hollywood's Talking, Shoot for the Stars, Mind Readers, Play the Percentages, Starcade, or the $40,000 Chain Reaction.
ОтветитьI watched a lot of game shows back in the 70's and 80's. They were the staple of daytime TV back then. Most of the time, I saw Geoff Edwards as a substitute host instead of a show's full time host. He did some shows in my youth, such as Starcade, Play the Percentages, Chain Reaction, and an 80's revival of Treasure Hunt. Man...how times have changed since then.
ОтветитьYou would be RIght You Are if you said that today 3/5 is the fourth anniversary of the Geoff Edwards appearance as a contestant on the March 5, 2014 episode of Celebrity Bucket Kickers.
ОтветитьI think Geoff Edwards was cute
ОтветитьYou forgot one show on your list: Lucky Pair, an early 70's game show seen mostly in parts of California. The object of Lucky Pair was, from a board of 20 numbered squares, to make as many as nine matches which would use up 18 of the numbers. The other two squares first were two stars (which gave the contestant an instant prize for each star), then later became one star and one lemon (which would end a team's turn). It was played In two rounds, and the team making the most matches won the game.
In the bonus game, the contestant needed to match five pairs within either 30 seconds, or 60 seconds, before time expired. The prize was given to the contestant depending on the number of pairs made--if
I remember correctly. Geoff Edwards was one of two hosts of Lucky Pair--the other was Richard Dawson!
Aside from Starcade (of course), the only game shows that I remember seeing that were shown here were Jackpot (probably the newer version) and Chain Reaction. I remember seeing those as a kid when they aired on USA Network along with several other game shows.
Personally, I think Geoff Edwards made a much better host for Starcade than Mark Richards. Geoff actually seemed to enjoy playing the games (particularly Sinistar).
Geoff was amazing at his mind games and tension building on Treasure Hunt.
ОтветитьNow all that's left to upload that I can think of are Preter Tomarken, Jim Lang, Peter Marshall, Monty Hall, Bob Eubanks and Chuck Woolery.
ОтветитьI thought that Geoff Edwards was a nice man and a great game show host.
Loved his hair and Tuxedo. Especially Starcade. He understood the kids.
DANGER WOMAN
Geoff Edwards, along with Jim Peck, were two of the most underrated hosts from the second wave of game show hosts that were ushered in, that included Jim Perry, Chuck Woolery, Bert Convy, Dick Clark, Richard Dawson, Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak, Peter Tomarken, etc. As far as I'm concerned, Jim Lange, Peter Marshall and Bob Eubanks arrived at the very end of the first wave. However, they set the stage for that second wave.
ОтветитьLove Treasure Hunt!
ОтветитьI always liked Treasure Hunt
ОтветитьI also liked Play the Percentages.
ОтветитьIt's actually Shoot For The Stars
ОтветитьR.I.P. Geoff Edwards
ОтветитьYou left out Geoff's first game show that he hosted, Says Who? from 1971.
ОтветитьMY FAVORITE SHOW IS STARCADE
ОтветитьWHO IS THE ANNOUNCER ON STARCADE
ОтветитьChain Reaction was how I was introduced to Geoff Edwards, but it wasn't this version. There was another version that he hosted that had a progressive jackpot.
ОтветитьFUN FACT: Geoff was the first news reporter to announce that Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald in the basement of the Dallas Police Department, Novemrber 24, 1963. Edwards was working for a radio station when he announced that "Ruby has been shot!" - if you watch and listen to the video clip of Ruby's murder here, listen for the first announcement - that's Geoff. Believe he was working for WFAA in Dallas, but I could be wrong.
ОтветитьTotally forgot that he did the California Big Spin show. I mainly knew him from Starcade.
ОтветитьWe had a New York version of the California lottery game show back in the late 90s
ОтветитьUnderrated host imo. I wanna watch one of his shows one day. Especially starcade.
