iFixit's PS VR2 Teardown- A $550 Compromise

My cable finally died and even to this day there is NOTHING from sony in terms of repair manuals nor replacment parts.

This is a bummer. I just want to swap the analog stick. Have to mostly go in blind.

The PlayStation VR would have been cool if the camera wasn't so aids and it didn't reuse the PlayStation Move from the PS3

There is a screw behind the trigger button that I can't get to - you seem to have removed the button cover before taking the trigger off, I wish I could see how you did that.

My psvr2 cable broke i tried to fix it with this video and now my cable and backstrap are broke 🥲

Have almost all headsets... love the PSVR2 for the comfort design! The ruber face gasket is an AWESOME IDEA. I refuse to use other face gaskets

Where can I buy a battery like that for the controllers?

PLEASE sell the main USBc cable. People are breaking them, Sony wont sell the cable, and they want to charge people $300 to replace cable on a $500 headset.

I just want to find a replacement cable. My son's dog chewed the cable in two. The cable is serviceable, but I can't find it online to save my life. It has a proprietary connector on the end that plugs into the headset 🤦‍♂️

I; literally just wanted to know how to remove the HDMI cables. Wow. Nice work Einstein.

One of my PSVR2 controllers stopped working while I was in game. No battery level warnings or anything, just an abrupt stoppage and statement that the controller is disconnected. I tried the hard reset stuff the internet recommended but that didn't do anything. It won't turn on, no lights come on when plugged into any power cables, separate chargers or the PS5 itself. I used 3 different cables. It appears that it won't charge and is completely dead. I took it apart while watching this video and reseated the all the connections at the USBC port end to no avail. I didn't disassemble past just getting the battery removed. I couldn't see any obvious burn marks or damage on the charge port or ribbon cables inside. I then took the other controller partly apart and plugged the dead controllers battery into it and the 2nd one still worked. Using the 2nd battery on the first controller did not fix it. Is there a common part that has been going bad on these?

Now make a video on how to put it all back together, if you can't you can always sell the parts on EEEEEBAYYYYY... lol, then someone can buy them in weekly parts.. ISSUE ONE OUT NOW, you get the CPU Fan and One LENS, only £9.99 OUT NOW...HAHAHAHA

If one of these Inferred eye tracker sensor disconnects around the lens, it start to flash red and after 5-10 seconds it turns off the PSVR2, like it has a fault.

Thank you for your video. The tension wheel for the strap has seized up on me. Do you think by dismantling the wheel I could get it back on track? It's so strange that I used the release button to remove the head set but the wheel never reset and is locked. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We all know it’s a rip off. The vr headset costs more than the actual pa5 system itself. That alone puts it in a terrible position in the market. It was a trrrible idea to push it

I recently replaced the back head rest and front and replaced with the globular cluster psvr 2 comfort mod and it was the best thing i ever did

Well, so goes the complaints about the cord breaking or fraying…..Seems super simple to replace the back rest, if the cord breaks…No tools needed…good look Sony.

The drifting controllers is an automatic no for me. Start using hall sensors FFS. And no, before anyone mentions cost, it's not an issue. Google the cost of hall effect sticks vs the crappy ones.
