I like how the Alpha Legion Herald is hiding behind his big black flag; cue John Cena, "You can't see me" (particularly appropriate after his recent heel-turn; very Alpha Legion).

Been looking forward to seeing his AL 🎉

I have noticed Winters has a bad habit of buying expensive units, putting them in expensive transports, then coming up with a good reason not to disembark them for almost the entire game, meaning they never do anything...

Great game, forces and scenery. Need to start remembering Gets Hot and Feedback on the Cerberus - this pair of rules really put me off running one.

Great game, nice to see the XXth on the channel! Saboteurs in Headhunter squads, for shroud bombs, stick a multi melta in them for precision instant kill options, infiltrate them right in your opponents face and use them like a skirmish screen, power dagger charges can also be surprisingly good. Conversion Beamer in the Lernaeans is always good for a laugh, blinding enemy infantry helps mitigate the Lernaeans WS4, also try a chainfist and a powerdagger on the Lernaean Sargent, 5 attacks on the charge can be spicy. Final thought, is steal all the things, anywhere you think you have a gap in a list, is just an excuse for a rewards of treachery unit.

I recently (a few months ago) started reading the Horus Heresy books and I've been looking forward to Isstvan battles!

I want to give heresy a go but I still have mild PTSD from dangerous terrain checks and immobilised vehicles in 7th ed so not sure it's for me 😢

Here in Italy the situation of Horus Heresy is nothing short of disastrous, with very few players scattered throughout our peninsula. Although I try to explain to 40k players the great potential of the game, the advantages of a more stable system and the implicit beauty of the setting, there is no way to involve them. And the reason is easy to say: the obsession for tournaments. Here almost no one can imagine the game outside of the tournament dimension and the harmful concept of meta.

You can actually bring Exodus twice since he doesn't have the Unique keyword, so he essentially is a Legion specific Centurion upgrade.

I haven't even gotten into the game itself and I'm already hyped up. That is absolutely a gorgeous Alpha Legion army.

Edit: good battle! I feel like even though they lost, there's going to be a number of Emperor's Children showing up at a nearby supply depot or command center, who certainly don't know anything about any Alpha Legion and who absolutely is not Alpharius.

James, maybe Smoke and Mirrors on the Leviathan moving him out of los from all the las / cerb all those waisted shots. Keep up the great bat reps btw.

When he joins that breacher squad alongside the Herald. Doesn't that mean the units lose the Heavy sub-type? thought you needed heavy as the subtype to join breacher units?.

Loved the video and really making me miss playing my mates when it's for fun and not just for compettitive reasons.

Wincing at all those points in 3+ armour in a LR squadron... let's see how they get on! 😂

I know it’s kinda scummy but I’ve always been enthralled by the idea of using Alpharius’ deployment rule with a master of signals to have Alpharius+termies, a full talon of 3 levitations, and 2 melta headhunter squads deepstrike right where it hurts.
Assassinate the warlord with the precision headhunter meltas then watch a primarch and 3 leviathans rip everything to shreds.

Super expensive and scummy but it’s terrifying and I’ve always dreamed of seeing something like that get pulled off.

Cheap max Seekers are great, Headhunters with combi-meltas and multi-melta too. Legiones Auxilia forcing your opponent to take a leadership test before shooting your Alpha Legion units is a nice additional headache. You can take 2 Exodus in a list because he does not have the Unique keyword. And if you want to get extra spicy, Alpharius can Deepstrike any 3 units so you can drop a Leviathan Talon, pair of Typhons, and 2 Kratos right on your opponent if you want. Cheaper trick though is to take Dynat and give Infiltrate to infantry units that wouldn’t normally have it, like a max squad of Inductii so you can rapid fire into the enemy and they can’t shoot back turn 1.

Remember exodus can run 13 inch and still fire his 3 shot profile at normal ballistic skill.
Get doing those shenanigans...
