I had garlic spouting so I split em up last week and re planted last week, am I wasting my time ?or should I go and buy some fresh garlic?

I accidentally left some in which sprouted weeks ago so I have just split them up and replanted them, hopefully I'll have a decent crop next year. Nice to see you back,also, wow to 30kg of garlic, that is some serious quantities!
