My wife loves Vileneuve’s Dune so much, she understand the story quickly even she’s not familiar with the lore.

And the she watch this series… instant bored & not understand the story. I’m too felt bored.

I think the fans of DUNE are mature enough to handle the concepts of BuddIslam in the Dune Galaxy which the Herberts drew from Buddhism and Islam.

This is CAP. If AI ever gets advanced enough to go war with human then there is no way humanity could win against it because our greatest weapon is technology and invention both of which are superseded by AI.

Maybe he forced the bene gesserit to leave their original home then took over it. It would make sense considering their planet was also raining in Dune Part 1

After humanity destroyed Thinking Machines there was about 1000 years of so called "Dark Times" where society was pushed back into Medieval-like state with MOST TECHNOLOGY WAS LOST, throughtout next 10000 years that technology was restored with help of Space Guild and Bene Gesserit. Here we are arround 100-150 years after war and technology level is comparable with movies. Bollocks.

It’s a shame they went with the son’s cliché version of humanity getting rid of machines. Frank’s original vision of how it was humans becoming so dependent on technology, allowing them to be basically enslaved by those who controlled the machines is much more interesting

I'm wondering if this is going to be a one and done season and they are going to move on to the other two books about the Metnats, and Spacing Guild, or are they going to try and get as many seasons out of this as they can? Either way I'm hyped for it as a holdover until we get Messiah!

At least Dune part 1 and 2 referred to Muad'Dib's Johad as a "holy war." Here they've stripped all the religious significance of the event. Tbf Brian did that first by making it just humans vs evil ai+human allies, but they have reaffirmed that.

2 things i did not like about the first episode. The machines and how they looked. Even the toy. And the night club scene. the rest was very good. :)
