Here we are in 2024. Struggling harder than ever. We thought life would surely get better...well, it didn't.
I earn more money than I ever thought I would in the 1980's and yet my bills are behind. I'm 62 and wish I could work the overtime I need just to get by. But a 16 hour shift on my Friday ( ya'll's Sunday) puts me down for my entire weekend.
And yeah, I went to college. Got myself a BS and an MA. Had $27,000 in Federal Student Loans in 1991 which have now ballooned to $134,000.
And my job is blue collar. I could have gotten this with a GED. Which I have. I gross around $100,000 a year. Supporting and partially supportting my Milleniel adult children. They were raised upper middle class and are barely getting by (with family help).
So don't shit on ALL Boomers. Some of us are just holding on until the right time to pull the trigger.
