I have a child that is Autistic. I myself have had a big brain tumor/worm like water ballon thing/not a bug removed. So I myself am into how the brain works and what's the mind? I've come to the conclusion that there are different levels like: body, soul and spirit. Thank you for some validation I needed being screwy and all;).
ОтветитьI would weaponize all this shit, then fuck kids . . . oops, that's docs job.
ОтветитьSorry, I could only take 45 minutes of this . . . good lick . . . sorry luck.
ОтветитьI'd recommend The brain that changes itself by Norman Doidge, one basic book of neuroplasticity. It features some brand new ideas, and a new model of autism. (With a way to solve some of the main problems with autism, for example the social skills and communications.)
ОтветитьWhat do Damasio, Tononi, Harris, Dennett, Sacks, Pinker, Ledoux and types like this think about these ideas? I want to buy this book for my mom, but not if this is like Jeffery Schwartz The Mind and The Brain trying too hard to save free will...
ОтветитьNever mind.. He fucked it up.. He said the mind is not just a product of the brain.
ОтветитьThank you for this excellent video by Dr. Siegel.-Mindsight. Dr.Balu.
ОтветитьIt would be a shame for you not to build strength when other people get stronger easily with Max Muscle Method (Look it up on google).
ОтветитьHe has George Clooney's voice!
ОтветитьPara cuando en español o subtitulado?
Ответитьso whats your definition David? if his views are primitive where are your books or research papers?
ОтветитьI HATED the idea of getting to the end of my life... Without doing my very best personally, financially & spiritually... After chasing new heights of success for YEARS... I finally found my niche and can now Retire Early And Pay For My Kid's College? Education... Better yet, I can pay cash for them to attend high impact self development seminars... With Tony Robbins etc... It's funny how life has a way of bringing you whatever you act and focus on... Visit: ActionOfSuccess(dot)com
Ответитьhah! He sure does!
ОтветитьThis is brilliant stuff if you know how to apply it. If you don't it may well seem useless.
ОтветитьYes, this is a google tech talk, but it has nothing to do with programming; unless you want to program your own brain. I've actually developed a way to rewire or reprogram people's brain's. So I appreciate it on that level. Here's my first test for people: close your eyes and see the two hemispheres of your brain. Is one side bigger or brighter than the other? If you can notice a difference write back and I'll tell you what to do next.
ОтветитьPerfect. If you can tell that- you can move to step 2 and bring your attention to the right side of your brain and light it up. Direct your attention there, that will energize it. Your intention is to have both sides lit up and balanced, harmonized. Now imagine what else you can do with this skill. Imagine what would happen to your brain if you never looked at it and consciously changed it. I've seen brains burnt out, red hot, swollen, collapsed, exhausted... Apply this using info in the video.
ОтветитьMindsight, he looks the part, he looks like some bad guy from Batman that is the brains behind some plot to rule the world with a company called mindsight. You just wait Mr. mindsight guy the bat man is going to show up and take you down just as soon as commissioner Gordon finds his fancy flashlight.
ОтветитьHis definition of the mind is "a process that regulates the flow of energy and information". Is his definition intentionally very broad? By this definition the microprocessor in a computer has a mind, though the microprocessor itself is not a mind. This still seems an apt definition but it is certainly not limited to the human mind.
ОтветитьI think the mind would literally be the program itself
ОтветитьYou need to discover the Power of Periods. (They are free by the way)
ОтветитьReally enjoyed this, but I keep having one question coming to my mind (and I am not being synical), but; where is our sense of humor? Do we not have that in the 'fingernails, in the middle' as well (that must sound really weird for someone who hasn't watched the video ) ? :-)
ОтветитьWhen employers creep deeper & deeper in2 areas previously met by other facets of society What recourse do employees hv when disputes arise, when personal interest r in conflict with group interest for example. When group objective is 2 increase margins at all costs .Especially when every1 from d Monk 2 D Psychiatrist all on company payroll & friction is detrimental 2 group earnings, Then how? Free agents who look out 4 number one & cliques who form inside d camp grounds? Congrats!
ОтветитьHow 2 map D connection between D car & D driver? In other words, who do we string up 4 all the mess WE'VE made. Because it's surely not out fault right? Sadism & masochism, murder & bloodshed, institutionalized misery & deception. How do we turn all those bads in2 goods & who's gonna buy it this time round? Only a parent would right. Rubbish
ОтветитьExcellent talk! Thank you,
ОтветитьIt's all about "Vipassana" meditation in Buddhism.
ОтветитьThis was well worth the hour of listening time. How a scientist comes to the understanding of the value of "meditation", "self-remembering", "inner silence" via clinical research of brain damaged patients.
ОтветитьThe beginning and end of this talk are fascinating. Brain mapping in the middle drags a bit.
Ответитьhad thought before about linkage of mind functions as mathematical integration (and thus derivation). glad to see this idea brought up in this video
ОтветитьHi, Daniel J Siegel.
I'm just a 'pore, iggerant bulldozer operator' BUT I have been as sure as I believe it is possible to be on this physical Earth for the last 30 plus years that 'brain' and 'mind' were NOT one and the same AND that 'mind' did not even reside in the brain but simply communicated VERY effectively with it.
Science keeps talking about 'mind' but I have yet to see or hear ANYONE, give definition of 'mind' that fits ALL of the things that I have seen various people's minds do in my lifetime. Nor have I seen or heard anyone state PROVE-ABLY where 'the mind' resides.
I live in hope.
Just my 0.02. Thank you for an interesting talk.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Ah yes, such an educated man, implying that they do now know what the mind is....... They do not have a clue. What that college educated idiot was first describing when calling it the mind, was actually meaning "Brain". The mind is who we are as the entity, and while it has everything to do with our three dimensional presence in this reality, it is so far beyond psychiatry's ability to corner it, they will never GET who we are until they change their perspective of who and what we are !!!
We are multidimensional in nature living in a multidimensional soup, in which we move in an through what is known as the continuum. Psychiatry likes to think of us as Flat Landers living in "Flat Land", and like to think of themselves as the three dimensional observer. They are so arrogant, that it is said, they cannot see the forest for the trees !!!
It they would, just for a moment, step outside that box they live in, they'll see our grander nature and how all the other realities we live in influence each other through that continuum, including our future and past. Theoretical physicist are just now beginning to see what we are involved within, so that old Freudian dialectic needs to be put away, such that they can start fresh investigations without all the baggage !!!
This is very helpful. It speaks to neuroplasticity and integrated brain. Great analogy mind, brain, and relationship triangle and how that affects things.
Ответитьjust finished reading Mindsight by Dan Siegel, and thoroughly enjoyed this summary of a fascinating topic. And what a impressive speaker too.
ОтветитьHi Mr Dan
Loved the journey. Love the system and aproach, definitions first as always and that i can appreciate enormously.
Some Cultural elephants in the room not discussed but then again, who has time for them, things may turn pretty quick into mindless politics.
Respects.

This was such a powerful presentation!

ОтветитьWithin the human body....Systems are within systems....electric,hormonal,abdominal,nervous,sympathy,blood,lymphatic systems.
ОтветитьThis is why stem cell Science is so important and the study of ethics!
ОтветитьWhat if the 'mind' is actually that connective source; the soul, spirit or collective consciousness? Maybe our brain, habitual and automatic thinking due to physically formed circuitry of established neuron pathways gets in the way? 'Mindful' training helps push that aside and connect with 'mind' (soul?) instead of 'brain' while rewiring the brain for more connection with that source.
ОтветитьHe forgot to mentions that females HAVE NO EMOTIONS!
Ответить.nice guy
Ответить9 functions of mental health: 1. regulate the body 2. attuning to others 3. balance one's emotions 4. capacity to extinguish fear 5. ability to pause before acting 6. insight (self knowing awareness) 7. capacity for empathy (different than attunement) 8. capacity for morality (thinking about the larger social good and acting on those behaviors even when alone) 9. intuition (being in touch with the wisdom of the body)
Ответитьdefinition of mindfulness: aware of your awareness, paying attention to your intention and eventually "states become traits" with practice :)
ОтветитьMind. Mindset and the psychology of the success
ОтветитьTo understand the world, we rely on external and internal input, which Siegel calls "energy and information" that navigate the brain's pathways. This input (energy and information) travels through our five senses and nervous system and reaches the prefrontal middle cortex, that the prefrontal middle cortex can utilize in 9 separate and integrated functions. Finally, this energy and information is sent back out through the brain's pathways, shaping our behavior.
Elegant proof of God. In the great question, "Are we flesh having a spiritual (mindful) experience or Spirits (mind) having a fleshly experience?" Siegel has now answered it. We are Spirits. Spirits that are having a fleshly experience before our flesh dies, and we return to God to share our experiences and be judged for the time He allocated to us. Amazing information.
I love his ability to think outside the box! He questions and is authentic.😊
