This is the most helpful video I’ve ever watched , thank you so much !
ОтветитьI just popped out my baffles out of a set stock harley slip ons on my honda vtx1300, and I'm back firing, too, on deceleration. I'm glad I found this video. Thanks.
Ответитьdamn I thought this was only a low priced scooter problem lol good job brother😏
ОтветитьThe idle speed needs to be 1200 RPM +-100 or else you will starve the top end for oil at idle per Honda manual. The ACE is 1000 RPM +-100. The difference is single vs dual pin crank.
ОтветитьI’d love to know what are those extensions that you have between your pods and carburetors.
ОтветитьTry doing this on a suzuki VS1400, absolute nightmare, one carb under the tank the other under the seat and joined by a sync cable.
ОтветитьWhat do you do when one pipe sounds like it’s struggling and the other doesn’t? What does that mean?
ОтветитьI'm going to give this a try on my v65. I bought this bike from my uncle which came installed with a kerker 4 to 1 exhaust, K&N air filter, and tuned carbs. the bike was sitting for 10 years before i brought it back to life. the last two days that i have been riding it though, when i accelerate and just cruise with very little throttle, the bike is popping a lot. i called my uncle and he told me to check the AFR screws and to turn them in and dial it back out to 1.75 turns. does that sound right? i did new plugs, cleaned all the jets and filters in the carbs. it's driving me crazy and i don't think its good for the motor to be constantly doing that. Any help would be awesome! thanks for your knowledge!
Ответитьbtw - for the shavings - try placing a magnet near by
ОтветитьWhen I pulled the plugs on my bike, I used a sheet metal screw. I ran it in the first hole, and grabbed the screw with a pair of pliers to work the plug out
Ответитьi was taught drill a 2 mill hole .. take a wood screw cut the tip of it .. drill it in just till it catches then pull on it
ОтветитьI got a 83 Honda shadow vt500 I’m bobbing out. I wanna chop the exhaust. Reading I’d have to rejet the carb in order to do anything with the exhaust. Would this be a better option for what I’m looking to do. I don’t really no a whole lot about carbs
ОтветитьAfter drilling the first small hole just screw a deck screw in there and pull it out
ОтветитьI really appreciate your videos. Very informative and to the point
ОтветитьGreat vid. I am slightly confused tho. Isn't decel pop and backfire 2 completely die things?
ОтветитьHey themotorcyclemd i got at 84 virago where someone messed with the idle screw so i got at lot of bagfiring of gas and now i try to fine tha sweet spot but can i just tur the screw in so its goes lean and out to the spot. And is it only in idle and a lille bit of gas
ОтветитьI have spent six weeks everyday doing this to my bike, and it runs different everyday..de accelleration backfire..I am now beginning to suspect the little rubber O rings and small washer inside the pilot screw housing...I am at a dead end really
Ответитьis one turn out a full complete turn of the screw..
ОтветитьSo helpful
ОтветитьJust bought a vt750 a month ago. I'm having this exact deceleration backfire you describe. Thank you so much for this in-depth video! Now I have confidence in digging into this myself.
Ответить100% 😎👍
ОтветитьFor newbies when drillig the carb mae sure your drill chuck isnt burning or cuttig your wires hanging in your way. Its easy to focus onwhat youre drilling and not see wiring harnesses getting damaged.
ОтветитьDid that bike have velocity stacks? Or filters on the carbs? Im debating on stacks for mine.
ОтветитьIs there a way to do the opposite for sleeper builds? Idk, it'd be cool to further the idea that its a POS with the fact that it doesn't make a bunch of noise. Also, would there be a way to reduce exhaust restriction while still keeping it quiet and not straight pipe it for maximum airflow?
ОтветитьWhat if i cant turn my adjustment screw.? Any syggestion?
ОтветитьI have a 2009 vstar 1100 clasic can't find the welch plug
Ответитьmost the time the pilot is too small...
ОтветитьJust use a 3/16 drillbit with a fat wood screw and you’ll be all set. Don’t have to work up on bits waste of time.
ОтветитьYou just told them the opposite you said towards the back was air in towards the front was fuel it’s 180° from that. Just a note.
ОтветитьCan I ask , as I am having trouble to under stand , do I need a solenoid on my motobike as I have disconnected the starter motor as it was bad and the bike is kick start only now as the electric start as been removed to ,as I think it was them that was over loading my battery as it was burning out all the time and I was buying a new battery every 5 weeks
ОтветитьThat's all well and good but what do you do with a fuel injected Harley other than buy a tuner that helps a 'little bit' ?
ОтветитьCan you do this to a 1995 Yamaha virago xv750?
ОтветитьCan I do this to my vstar 1100 how can I find tha little cap
ОтветитьSelf tapping metal screw makes it easier to remove those plugs. Drill just enough for it to grab then yank it right out.
ОтветитьI just Wanted to say thank you so much for this video. I have a 2000 Yamaha R1 and have been struggling with the exact symptoms you talked about with backfires while idling and Narly decel pops since the ex-up delete and Graves ais delete. I'm gonna adjust my pilots tomorrow and make sure there all still in sync and then RIDE!!!!! So thank you again for all the pro tips and help on clear step by step instructions on your videos.. 🤙✌️
ОтветитьI've watched a lot of videos in the last few days and by far this is the best I've seen yet, great work my friend
ОтветитьRpm dropping slow is too lean ?
ОтветитьDude you have so much patience. It's a shame that they make these adjustment screws so difficult accessible. They should be very accessible.
Nice Video thank you for your time making it.
Except going from bit to bit screw a metal screw in then pull
ОтветитьWhat about cv carbs
ОтветитьI've got a 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100cc, and thanks to this video, I was able to enrich its lean mixture and increase the idle speed. It's running much smoother. Much appreciated MD! My next step will be to install a K&N high-flow air filter.
ОтветитьThis could be a great video but I couldn't follow because of the camera movement. I'm very appreciative of the work and content but can you do another one with a better camera and less motion? Still a great video that I need to follow closely but I just can't. Others with more experience can but I'm a DIY guy and this is new. Thanks
ОтветитьI assume it is the same adjustments as with FI?
Ответитьgreat explanation!
I'm currently trying to learn carburetor basic. I'm trying to get my yamaha dragstar to work with pod filters without changing nozzles :) (and it also has adjustment screws under the cover).
you explained this procedure way better than the repair manual just saying
thanx
Very nice video
ОтветитьPut a wrag under it while drilling it to catch chips,...
ОтветитьThanks man!
