Congratulations to the Reverso. I don't wear my Duo Face very often, but I get it out of the box quite often - just to look at it and flip it a couple times.
Regarding your collection refinement. I think you can easily get rid of some Rolexes. Most of them look very similar.

there is another JLC with a a transparent case back and that is the Septantiem 70 anniversary of which only 500 were made in gold.

I have a couple of Reversos, including a gold ultrathin 277.2.62, and love them. Just got the boy a Q3858520 classic small seconds for his 18th :)

Excellent piece. A couple of Reverso squadra models from the mid 2000s had sapphire casebacks and automatic movements as well. Perhaps one of the more interesting line of watches.

I too have the very same watch. Bought it 3 years ago, second hand from its previous owner. It was in beautiful condition, but I have since put a few scratches. I love it.
What I wanted to say is that I very much doubt the new-old-stock line. Much more likely that the watch was pre-loved, sold to the dealer, who had it polished, and maybe fitted with a new strap. It must be one of the easiest watches to polish, and a genuine strap costs under 300 quid from JLC (I bought an extra long one). None of this is to denigrate your beautiful 976. It's just that you - by your own admission - have zero experience of buying a second-hand watch. The dealers always try to have their modern watches looking perfect. I don't agree with automatically polishing a watch - but it is how they get the best price, and the quickest turnover ...it's just a fact of life. I'm no expert, but I suspect this watch could easily withstand several polishes - I will certainly have mine polished whenever I get around to servicing it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Very nice. I like that the JLC name is on a back plate in the middle of the dial. On the current Reverso models it's just printed on the patterned surface of the dial and makes it very unreadable, making it look like a smudged bit of black ink.JLC should have their name clearly showing like on this model.

Your video on the JLC Reverso 976 convinced me to get one. Low and behold I seem to have your watch!!! I only identified it from the Guarantee certificate (right down to the small pen mark between the 3rd and 4th paragraph on the inside of the certificate). For my peace of mind could you confirm that you have parted with the watch and why you did so.

Many Reverso's have a display caseback, triple calender and grande date to name a couple off the top of my head.

Unless you’re going to go for a gyrotourbillon or the new 185, the 976 is as good as a Reverso gets.

Such a class watch. I am biased as this was my first big boy watch back in 2013.

Beautiful piece! But there are literally HEAPS of Reverso models that have a transparent display case back! For example the Grande Date (although that would be considerably pricier) and the Art Deco (very expensive). I would love one of any of these!
