For the goPro that have a Gps I believe, can that be track? The Drone also have a registration that it have to communicate with the system via satellite in order to take off. That can also be track with your Dron App. I hope I'm right about this, I also will be traveling and have a lot of important items. I hope you may recuperate.

A lot of van lifers have a hidden safe bolted to the floor. Even if thieves could work out a way to move/open it, that would take so long you would be back in time. It's a horrible feeling though knowing someone has been pawing around in yr personal space. Eewww! Glad yr safe though. 😊

So sorry for you. Just another reason why I hate people. I’m sure it will be a problem getting the lock fixed since it is such an obsolete vehicle. VW vans are worth a lot of money in the US. Good luck in the future.

I often wonder when these stories pop up why the van owners didn't upgrade the locks on their vehicles when clearly to any thief it is full of camera equipment, etc. Why do you not have insurance? Why do you not have a backpack to fill your equipment in and take with you if you do not insure your stuff? So silly. What do people expect?

When traveling in a car, van or other vehicle, it is important to have hiding places inside that, so even if you are broken into, they will not look there because it is hidden. A removable panel is easy to install on the walls that blends in with the rest of it and has no obvious handle. The area under a specific part of the floor under the rug with pop up panel works. Money can be placed inside a slit in the visor or a slit anywhere in the inside fabric. A hollowed out piece of framing is good. If someone is after food, they will take any containers that look like food, so don't put money in an empty Coke can. A purse/wallet should be small, wrapped in clothing and stuffed inside an ugly zippered bed pillow behind other pillows or in the dog's bed. Pretend your life depends on them not finding your stuff. There is only a pane of glass between your valuables and them.
