Not having 4- 2.1 HDMI inputs is a deal breaker for me every time especially when one of them is eArc
Ответить2.1 All the way!!
ОтветитьHello, I have a question about whether to connect my devices directly to myTV and then send the audio to my receiver via eARC or connect everything to the receiver and only one cable to the TV from the receiver. The latter is my current connection and I’ve noticed a slight degradation in the video quality, specially when watching 4k BluRays. I’m not worried about seeing the cables as everything is in a cabinet. My TV: XR48A90K, Receiver: Denon AVR-S760H and has both 4K & 8K capabilities and sounds great. My HDMI cables are all 2.1. Thanks for the video and look forward to your answer.
ОтветитьAnother reason why Sony needs to team up with Apple and make an Apple TV. Apple can make a custom chip for them 😊
ОтветитьFor me many HDMI claim can handle 48GBPS for 8k and up and massive 11 to 16ch of surround audio from atmos and DTS:X not true need be properly certified only real high end are audioquest high bit transfer of needed transfer which cost around 4 to 6 hundred dollars same goes for New THX HDMI with quality up to 10k res. If it ever be needed. Made in Canada and solid in us and in EU.
ОтветитьMr. Denison can you tell me what optic fiber line (speed) i need to watch live stream movies and F1 ?
ОтветитьI quit even watching TV and sure won’t buy China’s junk!
ОтветитьShould look at Lg only true HDMI 2.1 every port tv told unlike brand like Sony only have 2 such ports.
ОтветитьBuy a 2.1 switch .. why so mad bruh ?
Ответитьwho has a tv like these and not have a av reciever????????????????????????????????
you only need 1 2.1 port
I have an LG. I’m chillin 😅
Ответитьall I need is HDR1000 or true HDR. Its very hard to find in Mexico and the TVs with it are extremely overpriced.
ОтветитьI don’t get the obsession with 2.1. There’s only 2 things that need 2.1. 8k content and 4K gaming at 120hz and even for that. You need a powerful pc. My 3080ti can barely get over 60 fps at 4K now. Almost nobody needs 2.1. Let alone 4 of them. My pc is the only thing that takes full advantage of it and that’s the onlu 2.1 cable I own. Even my 4K blu ray player I only use a 2 cable.
Ответитьffs at least stop making one of the 2.1 ports the ARC interface
Ответитьthe biggest problem is hdmi ports are defective they break down very easy unlike the old rca ports
ОтветитьMy 85” Samsung NEO QLED HAS 4 2.1 HDMI
ОтветитьQuestion about 2.1 at 120hz gaming like Xbox series x unit with upcoming Sony flagship QD-OLED slated for release by end of year with gaming option HDR Gaming at 120Hz with native 4k res. as well option play select games in Dolby vision with HDR at 4k res. At 120Hz is this all lie?
ОтветитьI think you need to go sit in a room and listen to yourself dude..lololol
ОтветитьTo me HDMI 2.1 only need if got tv support it and if using other Xbox series X\S or PS5 or high end gaming computer or Apple MacBook Pro with m2 pro or better. Otherwise it waste of money at least for now.
ОтветитьWhy not four HDMI 2.1 ports? It seems like the same case, of removal of headphones jack from phone. Four HDMI 2.1 ports, is simple logic. For a car, will you use one wooden wheel, one plastic wheel? TV makers should give minimum four HDMI 2.1 ports or more, because one port will be E-Arc. I hate to say this, "some TV makers are too smart, which makes them stupid". Now, we got Xbox, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Blu-ray player, these items already taken up 4 HDMI ports. I can never understand the TV makers brain. If we plug in a PC, we will need a total of five HDMI port. The math is simple, just give what the customers want.
ОтветитьI am strongly considering buying an A95K on discount this fall, but will eventually want more than the two HDMI 2.1 ports.
Rather than buy a Samsung or LG TV (or wait another year for Sony/Mediatek to provide 4 ports), can I use an HDMI 2.0 splitter? Is it really that simple?
If so, can you recommend any that are fully standards compliant? I have an Xbox Series X, a a PC, and would like some headroom for future.
Short of a product recommendation (although I gladly accept one), what are the standards a switch needs to replicate HDMI 2.1?
Sorry if this ia a noob question, but I want to be sure I'm buying the right switch (as HDMI 2.1 seems much more complicated than 2.0 and earlier). I see this question addressed frequently in other forums, but I've missed clear recommendations from reputable sources.
Thanks!
So unfortunate that Sony has lost their mojo! They used to be a company creating novel and innovative technologies. Now Samsung and LG has been eating Sony’s lunch!
ОтветитьPretty BS this is still a thing…
ОтветитьI finally got a reciever that's got HDMI 2.1 with support for all the nice features, so I don't quite need 4 hdmi2.1 ports anymore, but labeling it as such, while not giving the actual benefits is super shady. My CX had this back in 2020, and my new QN90B has it now. I wouldn't buy a TV unless it has 4 full speed HDMI 2.1 slots.
ОтветитьKnow, Like, and Trust. Now that I know Mediatek's allowed this lie to grow, I don't like nor trust them. I purchase products that allows room for expansion. That's why I will be buying the TVs that have the extra ports for additional growth. Too bad Mediatek feels they can mislead and still hold onto their market share. Thanks for sharing this vital news.
ОтветитьBesides gaming consoles, what can really take advantage of a full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 port?
ОтветитьHDMI is the biggest dissapointment in the history of technology! We all want HDMI 2.2 and then 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, etc.... do you see where this is going?
Ответить98% of the TV's don't even have REAL 120hz/I panels aka 2.1hdmi (everything it's interpolated which cuse even more issues) only a couple high ends and Caleb it's pissed because he can't have 4 of them.😆
ОтветитьDrugs and vaccines are slave to contacts and more so patents and patent expiration dates like other tech
ОтветитьSHOOT THE MESSENGER!!! ...but just in the knee - LOL!
ОтветитьDoesn't Display Port 2x have way more performance than HDMI? Are these companies locked into HDMI?
ОтветитьAnd who needs more than 1 HDMI port on a TV
ОтветитьAnd why they use arm a73 CPU's released in 2016?
ОтветитьI just bought a 65 inch Lg B2. And put it up on the wall where my old mount was, just to find out that they put the ethernet, e arc, and other hdmi 2.1 port all in the very back. Not on the side where it would be easily accessible. I Can't even use the 2 main hdmi ports that I need. I figured that the B2 would have it's Hdmi 2.1 ports on the side like the c2, or even the damn qneds do.
ОтветитьIt for those who have m2 pro or max chip MacBook Pro or MacBook Air with one of these 2 chips they come with HDMI 2.1 for improved 4k and 8k performance otherwise not much use this tech other than Xbox series x upon firmware update if not already otherwise nothing as far I know.
ОтветитьJournalist assume and buy into hype.
“How could marketing manipulate us like this”…
This is the dumbest rant I’ve seen. Own up to your own incompetence. You assumed and ran with the story without confirmation of “full bandwidth”.
Wish Americans could reduce & condense their facts and do a brief summary of outcome, without additional adverts interrupting this.
ОтветитьHDMI?
ОтветитьWould it be possible to simply use a HDMI 2.1 splitter/switch to avoid this concern? for people like myself who have only 2 on my sony and one being used for eARC? and if so, which switch do you recommend? Lastly, I understood that most TV, BluRay, etc. content only use up to 60Hz anyways...thoughts?
ОтветитьMan this is disappointing
ОтветитьDon't forget about the 1Gbps Ethernet port, I'm also pissed about that. PremiumTV vendors should sponsorship other players in the market if they want to be in the hands of one single vendor.
ОтветитьLg G2 has 4 hdmi 2.1 .what are u talking about?
ОтветитьThis is going to force the tv manufacturers to create their own soc’s if Mediatek keeps this up
ОтветитьJust got a C2 from lg and not knowing that potential 2023 models will have 2x hdmi 2.1 ports just justifies my purchase 😅
ОтветитьWill any organized citizen group finally take HDMI Licensing Administrator to court for the worst and most meaningless audio-video connectivity specification in the world, aka "HDMI 2.1"? It's ludicrous what companies running the Licensing Administrator allow themselves to do on the consumer market. A judge needs to order them to enforce simple, transparent and unambiguous labelling of bandwidth and features any HDMI device brings into the market. It is not hard to do it and only court order could force them to be transparent and honest with consumers. As Caleb presented here, Pentonic 1000 SoC promo text "HDMI 2.1 x 4" is absolutely meaningless, despite appearing to follow the formal spec. Such text in promo materials says nothing about specific capabilities of ports and devices. It can even be 1080p screen with 240Hz.
ОтветитьI will wait till this defect is rectified and then decide which type of tv to buy.
ОтветитьNot an issue for the vast majority of customers. But I understand the anger towards MediaTek.
ОтветитьI assume Sony, TCL etc are raising a big stink to Mediatek about this issue, It's making all these brands look foolish compared to LG, and foolish is not what they want to look like, it's bad enough they rely on LG Display for the panel's, Point being, if these multi million dollar customers of Mediatek (Sony et all) can't successfully encourage them to update their SOC specs, what chance do non paying customers of Mediatek (you all) really think you have of being heard? But seriously, it's a nice to have, it should be there at this point, we'll probably have HDMI 3.0 or 2.2 before they get 2.1 on all ports, but not having 4 of them isn't ruining anyone's life. You can have a perfectly acceptable full featured gaming experience with HDMI 2.0, probably wont really notice a difference between 2.0 and 2.1 features and if you're that serious of a gamer that you need the full specs of hdmi 2.1 to be satisfied, you should be gaming on a monitor not your living room TV. and you probably should be using a PC not a console.
ОтветитьHDMI isn't for consumer friendliness - its real purpose to protect content owners through digital copy protection schemes.
ОтветитьThx for making me aware. ❤
