Today we do our first-ever review on a product from the Curry company! For years I have heard many good things about Curry mouthpieces, from their affordability to their high performance standards. Today we look at a mouthpiece featuring their "brass band cup," which can give even stubborn modern cornets a hint of that century-old vintage essence: soft, fluffy, and buttery at soft dynamics but shimmery and rich when pushed. Ultimately, I still prefer my Denis Wick 2B and Yamaha 16E, but speaking of stubborn, that's what I am with cornet mouthpieces. For whatever it's worth, my local brass band's repiano player, one of the most prodigious heads in the band, uses the 3BBC to great affect for all of his cornet playing.
